1372 Master John de Outheby, Notary Public, was a witness to the institution of Robert de Bolton, chaplain, to the vicarage of Eccles. [1]

1373 John de Outheby was appointed as one of the Bishop's proctors and messengers. [2]

Appointment of Master John de Outheby, LL.B., John de Kyrkeby, chaplain, and Thomas de Froddesham, clerk, jointly and severally, to be the Bishop's proctors and messengers for presenting to John, Archbishop of York,l and Legate of the Apostolic See, an Apostolic Rescript upon the rejection of an appeal of Master Richard de Tyso from the court of the oFficial of Canterbury to the Apostolic See, and to act on the Bishop's behalfin the matter. Dated Heywode, iij. Kal. Jun. 1373.

1374 John de Outheby was appointed Archdeacon of Stafford in April. [3]

iiij. Kal. Apr. at same [Heywod]. The Bishop conferred the Archdeaconry of Stafford, vacant by the death of Master John de Sulgrave, upon Master John de Outheby, clerk; and then and there commissioned Thomas de Froddesham, clerk, who inducted the said John in the parish church of Stowe. Witnesses of the collation and commission, W. de Neuhagh, Notary public, J. Bynbrok, and the Archdeacon of Coventry, and of the induction ds. William, chaplain of the church of Stowe, and Henry Webb, parishioner of the same.

1381 John de Outheby was appointed Archdeacon of Derby in December. [4]

xvij. Kal. Dec. at Heywode. The Bishop conferred the Archdeaconry of Derby on Master John de Outheby, bachelor in laws. Mandate to ds. Robert de Kybbeorth, chaplain, of Lincoln dio., and Master William de Rodburn, clerk, Notary Public.

1413/14 John Oudeby wrote his will on March 4. An abstract states, [5]

John Ondeby, rector of fflamsted.
4 Marsh, 1413. [fo. 86.]
My sister Agnes.
My brother Thomas.
John Rede servant (servus) of John Blaket.
Every servant (servienti) in my hospitium in London.
To fflamsted church two gradalia, &c.
To Berughby church a chalice &c. which is there.
My messuage in Silverstrete London to be sold to John Blaket esq. if he pleases.
Executors :—John Blaket esq., my brother Thos. Ondeby, John Skelton, and Ric. Robyn.
Witnesses:—Laurence Blakesley clerk, John Godsonne clerk, John Reed, and Wm. Skrevener.
Proved in Halughton parish church, 23 March 1413.
