Research Notes:

1846-1847 We are researching Elizabeth Crosby, who married Sanders Reed. Elizabeth Crosby was named as an party to the estate of George Crosby, according to Probate Court records of Shelby County, Indiana. These records suggest that there may have been six Crosby siblings:

George Crosby, who died c 1846 in Shelby County, Indiana
Elizabeth Crosby, who married Sanders Reed
Ann Crosby, who married John Wherry
Joseph Crosby, who had son Darius Crosby
John Crosby, who lived in Ohio
William Crosby, who had children Jacob and Mary Crosby

We have found records for all of these siblings, except John Crosby, of Ohio.

Crosby of Putnam Co. Ind. and Mary wife of John Crosby of Kentucky, his children. 2-1849

We would like to find more direct evidence about this family of siblings, and their parents.

A pedigree names William Crosby (1764-1806) and Elizabeth Armstrong (1767) as the parents of George, Joseph (married to Elizabeth Jackson), John, Alexander, Elizabeth, and Mary; which is a plausible fit for several of the siblings named in the estate records of George. However, Elizabeth apparently married Jacob Henson. [https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:S52B-FYV]

The relationship, if any, between John Uriel Crosby [6] and the siblings named in the estate of George Crosby, is unknown to us.
