1548 Richard Marven wrote his will on July 30, "In the name of god Amen In the yere of the reigne of our Soueragn Lorde kynge Edward the Syxte by the grace of god kynge of Englande France and Ireland an high and supreme hedde of the Churche of Englnad and Ireland the seconde yere of hys mooste gracious reigne the xxx day of July I Richarde Marven sycke of body and hole of mynde and syke of body make this my last wyll, Firste I geve my soule to Allmyghtie god my body to be buryed in the churche yarde of Saynt Bartyllmewes the Lytell in London Item I geve to Thomas Marven my yongest brother a house and lande wt thappertennances lyeng in lytell Okelay in the Countie of Essex named Brandons to hym and his heyers of his body laufully begotten foreuer Itm I geve to Maryon my syster tenne pounds Witnes herof Sr Michell West curate Nichas Harryson Sexten wt mo and John Hille." Probate "vicesimo primo die Aprilis Anno Dni Millesimo quingentesimo quinquagesimo" [21 April 1550], administration granted to Thomas Mervyn brother of the deceased. [1]
