1503 Thomas Merveyn dictated his will on August 23. "In the name of god amen The xxiijth day of August The yere of our lord M vC and three And of the Reigne or our most drede Souvrain lorde kyng henry the vijth the xixth yere. Thomas Merveyn of Ramsey of good mynde and memory beyng thanked be the good lord of heven albe it syke of body made and declared his testament nuncupatiff conteynyng his last will in manor and forme as here after foloweth. In primus he bequethed his soule to almighty god our blessed lady and all anngells and saynts. And his body to be buryed in xpen buriall. It' he bequethed half the stuff of his household and all hir owne stuff that she brought wt hir at the tyme of their mariage. It' he bequeth to his said wif his howse wt the lands at Ramsey church gate to have and to hold to hir hir heirs & assignes for euermore. It' he bequeth to Thomas his sone all his houses in Horwych to have and to hold to hym his heirs and assignes for euermore. It' I bequeth to Robert his sone l C m'rke. It' he bequeth to yche of his iiij daughters x li. It' he bequeth to John Flecher his parte of the key in Herlbych under the condicon he pay to his executors xl s. The Residue of all his goods and catalls not bequethed afor he gave and bequethed to his executors whom he named made and ordeyned Cristian Merveyn his wif John his sone and Thomas Gray. These beyng witness John Cuko John Rande Water Hunt Reynold Edgar bailly of Herwych George Hasketh Thomas Daye Laurence Yong Willm Pyerce Emme White John Perdryche and other. It' he beqth to John his son his house att Bridge wt all the lands therto belonging & Kent in the Soken to have to hym his heirs & assignes for euermore." Proved 11 April 1504. [1]
