Notes for William Page

Research Notes:

For the convenience of organizing our notes, we have linked several Page families as children of this William Page, but have little evidence that Mary Williams and Phoebe Richardson married the same William Page or that the children shown here were the children of William Page, although it is plausible that some were siblings of each other.

1742 William Page, husbandman of Mansfield, and Mary Williams, spinster daughter of Lydia Ivins, late Lydia Williams, got a marriage license in New Jersey, on March 17. [3] [4] [5]

1755 A son (perhaps Abner Page) was born to William Page on December 13. [6]

1756 William Page of Burlington married Phebe Richardson on April 13. [7]

1757 A daughter was born to William Page on January 29. [8]

1758 A son was born to William Page on June 10. [9]

1759 A daughter was born to William Page on March 17. [10]

1760 A son was born to William and Phoebe Page on October 10. [11]

1806 Phebe Page made her will, dated July 22, naming sons John and Daniel Page; three grand-daughters; Hannah, Phebe, and Mary Lippincott; and son-in-law John W Lipppincott [based on this, we show John W Lippincott married to daughter Page, but the daughter could, instead, have been by a first marriage for Phebe Richardson] [12] [13]

1808 Abraham Brown certified the will of Phebe Page on May 7; John Lippincott was named administrator for her estate. [14]

Notes for Asa Page, died 1829 (relationship unknown):

1773 Asa Page married Amy Evingham on January 20, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. [15]

1829 The will of Asa Page was recorded in Burlington County, New Jersey. [16]:

1829 The estate of Asa Page of Burlington County was administered on February 25, by Abner Page Junior, executor.

1829 Abner Page Junior presented the account to the court and prayed for authorization to sell the real estate to pay debts. Dated November 2.

1829 Abner Page Junior, executor of Asa Page deceased; Sarah Clevenger, executrix of Job Clevenger deceased; and Charles Schuyler, one of the administrators of Watson Croft deceased; presented accounts to the court showing that the estates were insolvent and asked the court to authorize sale of the real estate of the estates. The court ordered that persons interested in the land should appear at a future court session, to be held in February in Mount Holly. At the November court.

1829 The will of Asa Page of Mansfield names wife Amy; sons Abner, Nathan, Edward, John, and Henry (deceased); daughters Karenhappruch Vanderslice (deceased), Rebecca Mongomery, Lydia Long, Susanna Car, Amy Haner, Mary Murry. Several grandchildren were also named. Witnessed by Samuel Black, Rebecca Starkey, and Barzillai Ivins. [17]

1830 Abner Page Junior, William Shreve, and Caleb Shreve posted bond of $800 for the estate of Asa Page, deceased, of Burlington. Dated February 9.

Samuel Read, Esq, attorney for Amy Page, the widow, signed a document claiming that the accounts of Abner Page were erroneous, and asking for verification of the account at the next court term.

1830 In the February term, the court considered the rule to show cause why the real estate late of the said deceased should not be sold for the payment of debts.

1830 In the May term, the court continued the rule of the last term and ordered Abner Page to appear to review his accounts, on motion of the attorney of Amy Page.

Some researchers name Mercy Aiken as the spouse of Thomas Page.
