Notes for Joseph Sharp

1758 Joseph Sharp and Grace Smith were married on December 2, 1758, in New Jersey. [1] [2]

1770 Joseph Sharpe advertised the sale of a 2000 acre tract in Newtown, Sussex County, New Jersey, called Pepper-cotton. [3] [4] [5]

1776 On 25 September, Joseph Sharp, of Pilesgrove, Salem County, dated his will. All lands in East and West Jersey, not herein mentioned, to be sold. Wife, Grace, 1/3 of the rents of my lands, except the plantation my son, Isaac, lives on, which I give to him, and which I bought of Brian O'Harrow and Rebeckah Kuller; also a tract of 100 acres which I bought of Joseph Wood, and he is to pay a debt due to Joseph Pox, of Philadelphia. Sons, Joseph, Abraham, Thomas and William, and my daughter, Margaret Brown, and daughter, Ann Sharp, all my Right of Propriety. Daughter, Mary Sharp, is to be supported by my sons. Executors—wife, Grace, and sons, Isaac and Joseph. The Society of Friends are to divide lands that I hold in partnership with my brother, Isaac Sharp, deceased. Witnesses—Samuel Sharp, Joseph Wallen, Jerusha Nelson. Proved at Newton, Sussex County, Nov. 4, 1776. Probate to Executors at Salem, Nov. 27, 1776. [6]

1776 On 16 October, the inventory, valued at £1,589.12.7, was made by Joseph Champneys and Richard Sparks. [7]
