1691 David Heart was awarded a masters degree from the Unviersity of Edinburgh. "Manumissa Anno Domini 1691, e Disciplina Magistri ... 6 Aprilis David Heart."[1]

1697/98 On January 20, David Heart, clerk, was commissioned as a Chaplain and Peter Heart, gentleman, as an Ensign in Colonel Gibson's regiment of foot. [2]

1697/98 Payments in March to David Heart, chaplain, and to Ensign Peter Heart of Col. John Gibsone's Regiment were listed among the warrants in the Treasury Book. [3]
