1657-1658 John Smith Jr. was listed in an accounting of gates, cattle, and land in Hempstead, Long Island. [1]

1659 John Smith rock, and John Smith Junior, perhaps Hannah's husband this one and his father, were listed among "persons that are to fense and Inclose Rockoway w'th ye Nomb'r of their gates donn at A full town-meeting the 17th of Aprill 1659." [2]

1686 On 14 February, John Smith "Roc", with his sons Joseph Smith and Jonathan Smith, of Hempstead, [sold land] to Mary Williss and Thomas Willes, and Hope Williss & Richard Willes - all of Oyster Bay. [Jamaica deeds, liber A, page 17]. [3]

1708 John Marvin, of Hempstead, dated his will on November 10, 1708 with probate on January 19, 1709. The will named wife Hannah and children Robert, Hannah Whitman, Ruth Townsend, and Jemima. Overseers: John Sering, Richard Townsend, and Thos. Gildersleeve. [4]
