Research Notes:

We are researching Abraham Stoner, who lived in Manor Twp, Lancaster County and moved to Bedford County, [42], son of John Stoner and Elizabeth Herr. We have notes for this Abraham Stoner, of Manheim Twp, to help us organize, and keep separate, the notes for several Abraham Stoner families.

We have found only a few clues about Abraham Stoner's wife or wives:

One report states "Abraham Stoner, wealthy farmer in Manheim Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Mennonite ... married Mary Miller, widow." [43]

1817 In January, Isaac Stoner (born July 1769), son of Abraham and Barbara Stoner died and was buried at Stoner/Steiner Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We suspect that this is Isaac Stoner, named as a son in the 1801 will of Abraham Stoner. [44]

Anna Kauffman married Abraham Stoner, as shown by the 1805 will of Christian Kauffman. [45]. The will did not specify which Abraham Stoner married Anna Kauffman. We show Anna Kauffman as the wife of Abraham Stoner, son of John Stoner and Elizabeth Herr. One source names two different men named Abraham Stoner as possible spouses of Anna Kauffman, daughter of Christian Kaufman. Abraham Stoner, son of John Stoner and Elizabeth Herr was named as a possible spouse [46]. Abraham Stoner, son of John Stoner and Lydia Ann Brumbaugh was also named as her possible husband [47]. We cannot be certain which, if either, is correct. Since Christian Kauffman and Abraham Stoner, son of Elizabeth Herr, both lived in Manor Twp, while Abraham Stoner, son of Lydia Brumbaugh, lived in Manheim Twp, we suspect that Abraham Stoner, son of Elizabeth Herr, married Anna Kauffman. See our notes for Abraham Stoner [48], son of John Stoner and Elizabeth Herr.

1798 Abraham Stoner, with log barn (20 by 40 feet) adjacent to Michael Bosch, John Kaufman, and others, was listed in Lancaster County, District 1 (where is this?) in the 2nd division of the state of Pennsylvania. [49]
