Notes for Esther Good

1769 Esther Good was named as a non-minor daughter of Christian Good in a deed between her mother, Magdalena, and her oldest brother, John. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Esther Good married John Johns. [6]

1781 John Tschantz was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [7]

1782 John Tschantz was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania as an inmate. [8] [9]

1782 Esther's brother Henry and his wife Christina Good, of Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, sold land, in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, to John Jones, on September 28. The land had been patented on February 2, 1761 to the sons and daughters of Christian Good, deceased [10]. On May 27, 1769, the sons and daughters of Christian Good had granted two tracts of the estate to Henry Good. [11] [12]

1785-91 John Tschantz was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18] [19]

1788 John Joanes and wife Esther sold land to Jacob Good on June 27. The tract was part of a tract that had been granted to the sons and daughters of Christian Good by patent dated February 2, 1761 [20]. The other heirs had sold the land to Henry and wife Christina, who sold it to Jon Johns (party to this deed). [21]

1789 Esther, the wife of John Johns [Jones?], was listed as an heir of Christian Good, deceased, in Lancaster County Orphans Court records dated August 5. [22]

1792 Thans widow was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [23]

1794 Abraham Shirk and wife Esther (late Tschantz, nee Good) sold land to Jacob Good by deed dated November 5. The land was from the estate of Christian Good and was granted to Henry Good, son of Christian. Henry Good and wife Christine granted the land to John Tshantz by deed JJ-577. John Tshantz died leaving widow Esther and no issue, so his estate descended to Esther and Christian Tshantz, eldest brother of John Tshantz. The land inherited by Christian Tshantz was eventually sold to Esther, then wife of Abraham Shirk. [24]

Research Notes:

Several researchers have named Johannes Tschantz as the spouse of Esther Good. [25] [26] Perhaps John Tschantz and John Jones were the same person.

1759 Hans Jones was taxed in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [27] [28]
