[43]

Research Notes:

The birth dates of William and Rebecca's children Grace, John, William, Rebecca, Margaret, Timothy and Thomas are listed together in Colchester Deed Book III (p. 6) without stating where they were born. The first entry describes Grace as "daughter to William Dickson & Rebecca his wife." The last entry describes Thomas as "their son." The other entries simply state son or daughter "to William Dickson." Thus it is clear that all of these children were born to Rebecca. These records and the birth records for the children of several other Colchester families are between the index to the deeds and the first recorded deed in the book. [44]

Emily McKay Dewey proposes that William Dixson's father's name may have been Robert. [45] Harvey, a source used by Dewey, discusses the history and genealogy of Dixon/Dickson families in Scotland and Ireland. [46]

1694 A Robert Dixon of Dublin Esq wrote his will on 12 Oct 1694 and it was proved on 4 June 1695. He mentioned his wife Joyce, eldest son Robert, and 2nd son ______. [47] [48]
