1884 An obituary for David Christophel reported [1]:
Christophel. - On the 10th of January in Harrison Twp., Elkhart, County, Indiana, of spinal lockjaw, caused by a cut in his foot. David R. Christophel, son of John N. and Elizabeth Christophel, aged 20 years, 2 months, and 29 days. He was buried at Yellow Creek on the 13th. His funeral was largely attended. A more extended notice of his conversion and zeal for Christ will appear in our next number.
