Research Notes:

1670 Thomas Knighton (age 35) and Dinah Battee (age 20) were married in Maryland. [1]

1687 Before 2 January, Dinah Battee, sister of Seaborn Battee, married Thomas Knighton. [2]

1693 Thomas Knighton, of Herring Creek, AA Co. died leaving a will dated 12 Aug 1684 and proved 28 Apr 1693. He named his wife Dinah extx. and residuary legatee. His daus. Mary, Eliza, and Millicent, were to have personalty and to be of age 18. His eldest son Thomas was to have 150 a. Marsh's Seat. Son George was to have Gad Hill. The will was wit. by Geo. Parker and William Holland (MWB 6:12). [3]

Thomas and Dinah (Battee) Knighton were the parents of Mary, b. c1673, m. 1st c1692, Richard Harwood, m. 2nd Joseph Jones 22 Oct 1712 at St. James Parish (AACR:160); Thomas, b. c1675; Elizabeth b. c 1677. m. 1st by 1700 George Simmons, 2nd, by 19 July 1745 John Elliott Brown (MDAD 21:310), and poss. 3rd [?] Chappell; George, b. c1679, d. by 1711; Millicent, b. c 1681, d. by 1701 in her minority and unm.; and Sarah, d. c1686, age 6 months (MCHR PC:816).

by 1696 Dinah married Anthony Smith. [4]
