Sydna Ann (Wolfe) Krause of Driftwood, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at the age of 65. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Fred Krause; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Heidi Har-gis and Jeff and Merilyn Hargis; daughter, Carrie Hargis; grandchildren, Ryan, Glen and Ashley; mother, Eliza-" beth Wolfe; brothers, Newman Wolfe and Kenneth Wolfe and many other wonderful relatives and friends. Sydna was preceded in death by her father, John Wolfe, Minister and Missionary for the Church of Christ. Sydna was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Austin, Texas. Among the things she enjoyed most was singing. "' The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening, April 4, 2002, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. 'at Harrell Funeral Home on Frontier Trail in Austin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at the South-side Church of Christ on South Congress in Austin with Josue Villa and Ron Pottberg officiating. Fred Krause was a character. He was a man whom reinvented himself throughout his life. A Father, grandfather, husband, musician and flirt. Fred passed away following a full life early Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 in San Marcos, Texas.
Fred was born Rudolph Fritz Krause Jr. on Monday, September 2, 1929 in Andrews Texas to Rudolph and Johnnie C. (Watkins) Krause Sr. . He proudly served our country in the US Army and then transferred to the US Air Force when it was separated from the Army. He served during Korea and Vietnam, retiring after twenty years of service as a Tech Sergeant. Following retirement he went to work for the State of Texas as a Cattle inspector. He spent most of his Career with the state on horseback, inspecting ranges, cattle, and brands and catching rustlers. After leaving the ranges, he opened a premier BBQ restaurant in Driftwood, closing it after a couple of years after he realized the extent of the work involved and the lack of time away. He then went to work offshore on oil platforms as a cook which he enjoyed for four years. He retired from the rigs following an evacuation during a storm were he broke his leg while getting onto the evacuation boat. Fred, being the person that he was, immediately went to work for Hertz Rental Car as an agent in San Marcos for eight years. He then felt that was enough and settled in to enjoy retirement. In his eighties he decided that he wanted to take up sailing, purchased a sailboat and concluded that he loved it but that it was too much to do by himself.

Fred was a self-taught musician. He played mandolin at dances and jam sessions in Niederwald and Manchaca as well as the surrounding areas. He loved music, to sing, play his mandolin, to fish, horses, BBQ, Sailing and of course flirting. He was an active member of the Southern Hills Church of Christ and enjoyed the company of his friends at the VFW in San Marcos. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Sydna Ann, and his son Michael,
Fred is survived by his Daughters Karen Kay Fambro, her husband Mike; Carolyn Cherie Large-Plasencia, her husband Peter; son John Taylor Krause, his wife Sylvia; Grandsons Bill Large and Kevin Fambro; granddaughter Kari Fambro- Hallmark, her husband Eric. He will also be greatly missed by his step-sons Greg & Jeff Hargis; step-daughter Carrie Hargis; step-grandchildren Ryan, Glen, and Ashley Hargis and sisters Lloydene Wood and Jo Ann Enhalder.

Please join Fred's family for a time of visitation on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Harrell Funeral Home 1715 Kirby in Kyle from 4:00 pm to 700 pm. Friends are invited to return on Friday, December 16th at 1:00 PM to join his family in celebrating his life at his funeral service. Interment will follow at Driftwood Cemetery in Driftwood, Texas. Gerald (Jerry) Roy Hargis Jerry was born November 12, 1934 in Brownsville, TX, and died March 23, 2018 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was 83 years old. Jerry served in United States Marine Corps 1953 – 1956 and in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve 1956 – 1961. He owned and operated Metroplex Electrical Supply in Garland, TX. Jerry is survived by his wife Maria Elena Hargis of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, half sister Elizabeth Terrazas, sisters-in-law Sandy and Sandra Hargis, 3 children: Greg Hargis and wife Heidi, Jeff Hargis and wife Michelle, Carrie Hargis, and 3 grandchildren: Ryan, Glen, and Ashley Hargis. He was buried in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
