Notes for Friederich Heinrich Steiner

1739/49 Friederick Heinrie Stainer, son of Abraham Stainer and Maria geb. Laubin, was born on January 29, 1739 in Warwick. He was baptized at age 10 at the Moravian Church in Salisbury on February 11, 1749 by br. Cammerhoff with witnesses Anton Wagner, Joh. Munster, Seb. Knaus, and Jacob Ehrnhard. [1] His grave marker reports that he was born on February 9, 1739 [January 29 on the Julian calendar is the same as February 9 on the Gregorian calendar]. [2] [3]

1757 Heinrich's brother Abraham Steiner married Salome Bürstler in a grand joint wedding with 14 couples at Bethlehem. [4] Perhaps Heinrich was able to attend.

1763 Heinrich F Steiner and Anna Elizabeth Volz were married. [5]

1772 Henry Steiner, blacksmith of Allen Twp, Northampton County, sold 96 acres of land in Northampton County to John McNair, on December 26, 1772. The tract was adjacent to lands of Michael Kyper, Paulsir Pyle, Randolph Coffman, John Walker, William McNair, John Boyd deceased, and other land of Henry Steiner. Henry Steiner had purchased the land from George Sharp and wife Mary by deed dated February 28, 1768, which was intended to be recorded (but never was recorded?). [6]

1773 Heinrich F Steiner (age 34) and Susannah Volz (age 22) were married. [7]

1775 Henry Steiner was named in the assessment list of Allen Township, Northampton County, with 5 acres (suggesting that he was not a farmer). [8]

c 1777 Henry Steiner was a private 2nd Class in the Northampton County Second Company of Captain George Edelman. [9]

1781 Henry Steiner, smith, was taxed for 5 acres in Allen Twp, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. [10] [11]

1782 Henry Steiner, smith, was taxed for 5 acres in Allen Twp, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. [12]

1783 Henry Steiner blacksmith of Moor Twp, Northampton County and wife Susanna sold land to John McNair seignor. The 5 acre tract was on "the west branch of Deleare" by lands of Nathaniel Taylor deceased, Thomas Neal deceased, and Archibald Laird. Henry Steiner had purchased the land from George Sharp on February 23, 1768. Deed dated April 13. [13] Perhaps this was the 5 acres mentioned in the 1775 tax record.

1785 Henry Steiner was taxed in Moore Twp, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. [14]

1786 Daughter Catharina was born. 'Catharina Steiner (b. "the settlement," Allen Twp., Northampton Co., Pa., on or about 17 Oct. 1786; d. 6 Sept. 1857; dau of Heinrich and Susanna (Volz) Steiner.' [15]

1789 Henry Steiner was taxed in 1789 in Allen Twp, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. [16] [17]

1790 Henry Steiner was taxed in 1790 in Allen Twp, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. [18]

1790 Henry Steiner received a warrant for 400 acres of land in Northampton County on February 16. [19] [20] [21]

1793 Henry Steiner received a warrant for 400 acres of land in Northampton County on May 10. [22] [23] [24]

1793 Henry Steiner received a warrant for 400 acres of land in Northampton County on July 29. [25] [26] [27]

1795 Joseph, son of Henrich and Susanna Steiner, was born on February 2. He was baptized on April 22, 1795 with sponsors Henrich H?aas and Elisabeth Schöneberger at the Lutheran Church, Kreidersville, Northampton County. [28]

1820 Friederich Heinrich Steiner died at the age of 81 years and 25 days. The record of his death and burial, including a listing of all of his children by both of his wives, appears in the "Sterbe Register" of the Moravian Church, Schoeneck, in Book 2, pg. 120, Item #95 (Original records at Moravian Archives, Bethlehem, PA, not seen). The church record reports that Friedrich had 60 grandchildren in 1820.

1820 Friederich Heinrich Steiner was buried on March 5, in God's Acre Cemetery, Schoeneck, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. (The birthdate reflects the change from the Gregorian to the Julian calendar) [29] [30]

1858 Susanna Steiner Plattenberger died on 10 May 1858 and was buried at God's Acre, Schoeneck, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Susanna Steiner Plattenberger was born on June 15, 1784.[31]

1851 Peter Steiner died on 8 Feb 1851 and was buried at God's Acre, Schoeneck, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Peter Steiner was born on March 30, 1776. [32] Anna Salome Clewell, spouse of Peter Steiner. [33]

1739 Joh Heinrich Foltz and Maria Eva Blümin were married on June 25 in Church Record and Minutes for the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation, Lutheran church, Warwick Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [34] [35]

1758-59 Henry Folts was taxed with 100 acres in Warwick Twp. [36] [37] [38] [39] [40]

1762 Henry Foltz of Warwick Twp dated his will on October 12. The will named wife Eva and daughters Barbara wife of Andrew Hoke, Eva wife of Adam Kle, Ann, and daughters under age 18: Elizabeth, Catharine, and Susanna. [41] [42]

1762 Henrich Volz died on October 20 and was buried at Rothsville United Zion Cemetery, Rothsville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Henrich Volz was born in 1715. [43] [44]

1769 Michael Foltz of Lancaster Borough dated his will on May 3. The will named wife Ann Elizabeth and son Jacob. [45]

1751-57 Michael Pfoutz was taxed in Northampton County. [46] [47] [48] [49] [50] [51]

1769 The will of Michael Pfoutz, dated May 16, did not name a daughter Anna Elizabeth or a daughter married to Steiner. [52] Catherine Poutz and John Zug presented their account of the estate to the orphans court. [53]

1769 The heirs of Michael Pfoutz sold land from the estate. The heirs were sons Michael and Jacob and daughter Catharina Grumbacher. [54]

A record of Susanna's death and burial and a brief biography appear in the "Sterbe Register" of the Moravian Church, Schoeneck, in Book 2, pg. 112, Item #74 (Original records at Moravian Archives, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania). The church record shows that she had nine children and lists them by name.
