1758 On Oct. 25, Thomas Staples of Burlington City, yeoman, perhaps the father of this Thomas, dated his will. Children—Mary (wife of Josiah Gaskill), Dorothy (wife of Joseph Pearson), Ann (wife of Thomas Rogers). Son-in-law (stepson?), John Tompson, who has children Thomas and Uriah. Grandchildren Rachel Tompson, Rebecca Tompson, Elisabeth Tompson, Staples Tompson, Rebecca Hancock, Martha and Mehetable Staples, Mehetable and Mary Rogers. Personal estate, incl. a negro girl. Executors John Antram and George Deacon. Witnesses—Joseph Antram, Elnathan Stevenson, Joseph King. Proved April 18, 1759. [1]
