1655 The birth of Mary Fouke to Thomas Fouke was registered on 8 October (month 6), at the North Wingfield parish and the Chesterfield [Quaker] Meeting in Derbyshire, England. [1] [2]

1679 Mary Foulke Junior witnessed the marriage, on September 2, of Anne Stanley and George Greaves in Nottingham, England. [3]

1680 Mary Fouke Junior and Mary Fouke Se witnessed the marriage of Anthony Woodward and Dorothy Taylor in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. Dated February 19, 1679/80. [4]

1684 Samuel Bunting and Mary Folke stated, on 6 of month 9, at the Chesterfield meeting, their intention of marriage at the women's meeting. Their parents were present and gave consent. He produced a certificate of clearness from friends in England. [5]

1684 Samuel Bunting and Mary Foulke, daughter of Thomas Foulke, both of Chesterfield, were married, on 18 of month 9 (November), at the house of Francis Davenport. Witnesses included Thomas Foulkes, father, Thomas Foulkes, brother, Frances Davenport, Peter Fretwell, Robert Murfin, John Tomlinson, Job Bunting, Samuel Sykes, John Curtis, Mary Wright, and Elizabeth Curtis, and others. 1687 Anthony Woodward and Hannah Folkes, dau. of Thomas Foulke, were married on 14 February, 1686/87, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by Samuel Bunting and others. [11]

1689 Thomas Foulke, son of Thomas Foulke, of Chesterfield, married Elizabeth Curtis, daughter of John Curtis, of Ogston, on February 21, 1688/89, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by Samuel and Mary Bunting and others. [12]

1702 Samuel Bunting held a civil post in Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County. [14]

1704 William Murfin and Sarah Bunting were married on August 8, at Chesterfield. Witnesses: Samuel Bunting and others. [15]

1706 John Black and Sarah Rockhill married on December 4, at Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Samuel and Mary Bunting and others. [16]

1709 Samuel and Mary Bunting, and others, witnessed the wedding of Isaac Horner, of Mansfield, and Elizabeth Sikes, of Chesterfield, on 19 of month 3, at Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. [17]

1724 Samuel Bunting died 20 of month 2, 1742. [18] [19]

A biosketch reports [22]:

Samuel Bunting, son of Anthony and Ellen Bunting, of Mattock, Derbyshire, England, came to America in 1678, landing on the shore of West Jersey, probably at Burlington, the then port of entrance of most of the English vessels. He took up a large tract of land bordering on Crosswicks Creek, extending southwestwardly more than a mile from the present village of Crosswicks. In 1682 his brother John, with Sarah, his wife, and Mary, a daughter, arrived and purchased a smaller tract of land adjacent his brother. In 1691 they gave a deed of trust to the Society of Friends, for six acres of land upon which to build a meeting-house, whereon the large structure now stands. From this perion, we find the brothers closely identified with the meeting, being continuously appointed on committee and intrusted with responsible business.

Samuel was a young man, and in 1648 married Mary, daughter of Thomas Folks (Foulks). His dwelling was among the earliest erected in the colony at Crosswicks Creek. Like most of the early pioneer dwellilngs it was humble in its construction, one story high, with two small bedrooms and an ample living room, with a huge fireplace wide enough to embrace the whole family within the redius of its genial warmth. In 1692, Friends' mid-week meetings were held in it. Subsequently it was enlarged and renovated throughout. In 1860 it became untenable, and after being photographed it was torn down.
