1847 Isaiah Pickett and Mary Marquess were married on September 9, by John McFarland, JP, in Jackson Twp, Darke County, Ohio. Marriage record transcribed as Isaiah Prokett. [1] [2] [3]

1850 Isaiah C Pickett of Darke County, Ohio received a land patent at the Fort Wayne, Indiana land office, on January 1, for section 33, township 28, range 11 east. Signed by President Zachary Taylor. [4] [5] [6]

1850 Isaiah and Nancy Picket lived in Jackson Twp, Darke County, Ohio with John (age 16 born South Carolina), farmer; Charles (age 9, born Ohio); I.C. (age 23, born South Carolina), farmer; and Mary (age 26)(plausibly daughter-in-law Mary Marquis married to Isaiah C) born Ohio. [7] [8]

1850 Mary Marquis's family lived next door to Isaiah Pickett Senior in Darke County, Ohio. [9]

1853 Isaiah C Pickett and Silas Beasely received a patent for land on October 1, in Jasper County, Indiana. [10]

1853 Isaiah C Pickett and Gilbert R Hand received a patent for land on October 1, in Jasper County, Indiana. [11]

1854 Isaiah C Pickett of Darke County, Ohio received a patent for land at the Iowa City, Iowa land office for section 29, township 21, range 9 west. Signed by President Franklin Pierce. [12]


1856 Lots 40 and 41 of Isaiah C. Pickett in Union City were auctioned at a Sheriff's sale.

1859 Isaiah C Pickett of Cedar County, Missouri made two land purchases on November 1, for 40 acres and 160 acres of land in Cedar County, Missouri. [15] [16] [17]

1860 Isaa C Picket (age 38, born in South Carolina) lived in Box Twp, Cedar County, Missouri, in a household with Mary Picket (age 36), Loretta A Picket (age 8, born in Ohio), and Arther B Picket (age 8/12, born in MIssouri). [18] On the same page was Mary's brother, GW Marquess, (age 48, born Virginia).

1863 Isaiah C Picket (age 39, born in S.C.) was registered for the draft at Jackson Twp, Darke County, Ohio. [19]

1864 Abner and Eliza Page sold land to Isaiah Pickett in Darke County Ohio (see land deeds).

1865 Michael C Page (brother-in-law of Isaiah C Pickett) was appointed administrator for the estate of Asahel C Page on October 2. Wm R. Adkins, I.C. Pickett, and Wm R Marques provided sureties. Inventory was filed on December 15, 1865. First settlement was made on February 6, 1867. [20] [21] [Photocopy]

1870 Isaiah Picket (age 48, born South Carolina) lived in Union City Ohio with wife Mary (age 46, born Ohio) and children Arthur (age 9 born Missouri) and Adella (age 8 born Ohio) with Abner Page (age 18, born in Indiana) in the household. Isaiah's estate was valued at $4000+$4330. [22] [23]

1871-76 Isaiah C Picket was the administrator for the estate of Asahel C. Page. On Wednesday, 1 March, 1871, a complaint was made by William Allen that the estate of AC Page had not been settled by IC Pickett, more than 18 months after letters of administration had been signed, as reported in Probate Court of Darke County, Ohio [24]. On Monday, 13 March, 1871, Isiah [Isaiah] Pickett filed his first account of the estate [25]. On the same day, Isiah C Pickett filed inventory for the estate of Robert Bowyer. IC Pickett was ordered to pay costs. On Friday, April 14, 1871, I.C. Pickett presented his account with balance $508.85 [26]. On 16 May, 1871, IC Pickett was ordered to pay $508.85 to the heirs of the estate [27]. On 25 May, W. Allen recieved $63.60, one eighth share of the estate of A.C. Page from I.C. Pickett, administrator, "which sum I am entitled to as the owner of the ? of Anna Frists, in said estate, who is one of the heirs of said decedent" [28]. On 20 March 1876, I.C. Pickett paid probate judge James Meeker $63.60 for Amy and Collins A Stevens of Burlington County, New Jersey, part of the share of Amy Stevens [29]. On 21 March, 1876, $63.60 was paid to Sarah and Richard Ridgeway, of Burlington County New Jersey, for the share of Sarah Ridgeway. On 25 March, Mary Birkdull of Jefferson Kentucky received the same share. On 25 March, Elizabeth B. Powell and David Powell Jefferson County Kentucky received the same for Elizabeth's share. These documents provide a three generation link Between Asahel C Page and Elizabeth R Page, daughter of M.C. Page, and husband of Charles Pickett, through Isaiah Cochran Pickett, brother to Charles Pickett.

Undated The estate of AC Page was administered by Michael C Page and JC Pickett [sic] [30]. The documents cited would provide a three generation link to Elizabeth R Page, daughter of Michael C. Page, and husband of Charles Pickett, through Isaiah Cochran Pickett, brother to Charles Pickett.

1872 Isaiah C Pickett lived in Union City, Ohio. Isaiah C Pickett's occupation was grocer. [31]

1873 JC Pickett was elected as a Town Council Officer, as reported in the Union City Commercial newspaper on April 15. [32]

1875 IC Pickett was listed as a Union City councilman in the 1875 atlas of Darke County by Lake. [33]

1875 I.C. Pickett, administrator de bonis non of the estate of A.C. Page, deceased, presented an account to the court in Darke County, Ohio. The balance of $1548.83 was to be distributed to the heirs. [34]

1877-78 Isaiah C Pickett was listed in the Union City Directory with address on end Elm.

1878 Isaiah Pickett died on November 2. His service was conducted by Reverends Meek and McCorkle at the U.B. church. He was buried in Parents cemetery. His wife and 3 children survived him. [35] [36]

1880 Mary Pickett (age 56, born in Ohio, widowed) lived in Union City, Darke County, Ohio, in a household with Arthur B. Pickett (age 20), and Demeris A. Pickett (age 18). Mary Pickett's parents were both born in Virginia. Mary Pickett's occupation was keeps house. [37]

1889 Mrs. M. E. Pickett and J. C. Arnold were married on February 21 in Darke County, Ohio. [38] [39] [40]

1892 Mary Arnold was buried at Abbottsville Cemetery, Abbottsville, Darke County, Ohio. Mary Arnold was born in 1824. [41] [42]

1906 John Chambers Arnold died on June 25 and was buried at Abbottsville Cemetery, Abbottsville, Darke County, Ohio. John Chambers Arnold was born on August 20, 1826. [43] [44]
