Notes for Peter Ruhl and Anna Katharina

1739 Peter Rule, age 45 [1], immigrated to America on August 27 on the ship Samuel, from Rotterdam to Philadelphia via Deal, England, commanded by Hugh Percy. Peter marked his name with an X. [2] [3] [4] Peter Ruhl of the ship Samuel, age 45, was naturalized the day the ship arrived. [5] [6] [7]

1743 Ana Lehnora Ruhl, daughter of Peter Ruhl, was born on February 8, 1742/43, with sponsor G. Ana Lehnora Jisemenen, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [8] [9]

1748 Anna Catharina Ruhl[in] was a witness to the baptism of Anna Catharine, daughter of Georg Martin Wagner, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Manheim Twp, York County, on March 27, 1748, at which time she was listed as a widow [witwe]. [14]

Research Notes:

We are researching the parents of Frederick Ruhl, spouse of Maria Elizabeth Bahn. We speculatively show Frederick as a son of this Peter Ruhl, although no documentation has been found to directly support the relationship.

Clement and Frederick Ruhl were plausibly related to each other, because Frederick, of Shrewsbury, and Johannes, of Codorus (perhaps the Johannes married to Helena Schenk?), Ruhl were named as guardians for the children of Clement when Clement died in 1777. See the notes of Clement for sources. We also show Johannes Ruhl, born 1739 and married to Helena Schenk, as a son of this couple, based on the guardianship relationship.

Another Ruhl family was reportedly from Waldgirmes, Germany. George Frederick Ruhl, born 1746, was reportedly a son of Johannes Wilhelm and Barbara Leper of Waldgirmes, Germany.

1748 Peter Rule, of Bucks County, died. His wife was named Christiana. His will was recorded in Philadelphia.

1740 Peter Rule, of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was naturalized on September 22. [15] [16]

1748 The administration for Peter Rule was indexed at the Philadelphia Register of Wills Office. [17]

1748 The estate of Peter Rule, late of Rockhill Twp, Bucks County, Pennsylvania was administered by Adam Hawney and Christiana, daughter of Peter, and John Ernst Herr who married Ruth, another daughter, after the widow Christiana Rule renounced her right of administration. [18] [19] [20] [21]

Other records from St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1744 Anna Lisabeth Ruhlin was a sponsor at the baptism of a daughter of Johannes Schneider and wife Anna Margreta.
