1716 Abigail Doughty was born on 3 October, daughter of Jacob Doughty and Amy Whitehead. [6] [7] [8] [9]

c 1737 Joseph King and Abigail Doughty were married. [10] [11] [12] [13]

1739 William and Abigail King were condemned, on 7 of month 12, for their outgoings by the Chesterfield meeting. [14]

1763 William King, or son Joseph, purchased a farm from Nehemiah Dunham. [15]

1792 William King, of Kingwood Twsp., Hunterdon County, dated his will on May 12. Son, Joseph, all real; he paying debts. Daughter, Mercy Potts, bond of £40 due from my grandson Joseph Potts; also £30 and she to live with son, Joseph, while a widow. Granddaughter, Sarah Potts, 1 bed. Grandson, William Potts, 1 horse and my saddle and bridle. Daughters, Mercy Potts and Amy Stockton, residue of personal. Executors: son Joseph, and son-in-law, John Stockton. Witnesses: Jeremiah King, Jacob Lupp, William Lair, Robert Emley. Proved Aug. 6, 1793. [16]

1793 An inventory, with balance £219.11.5, was made on August 5, by Robert Emley and Jeremiah King. [17]

A review of ancestors of Abigail Doughty reports that Mercy King, born June 4, 1738 in Kingwood, New Jersey, was the daughter of William King and Abigail Doughty, who were married in 1737. [20]
