1860 Beneville Benjamin and Margaret Good lived in Elkhart County, Indiana with children Israel (age 18), Lydia A (age 15), Isiah (age 13), Elizabeth (age 9), Sarah (age 7), Elisha (age 6), Saphona (age 4), and Jacob (age 2). [4] [5]

1870 Margaret Good (age 50) lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Sarah (age 18), Elisha (age 16), Sophronia (age 14), Jacob (age 12), Mary (age 8), and Margaret (age 4). [6] [7]

1878 Ira Sankey Moyer was born on September 29, 1878, in Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana, son of John R Moyer and Frances R Good. [12]

1880 John Moyer (age 23) and Frances Mayer (age 24) lived with sons Ira (age 2) and Sylvester (age 2/12, on 26 June 1880) in Union Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. [13] Next door were Frances' mother Margaret Good and brother Isaiah Reed Good.

1890 John R Moyer was listed at Harrison in the Elkhart, Indiana Directory, 1890.

1898 The estate of Margaret Good was settled on May 6, in Elkhart County, Indiana, with payment of $113.05 to each of 10 surviving children: Sarah Good, Margaret M. Parsons, Jacob B. Good, Elisha W. Good, Israel Good, Isaiah R. Good, Elizabeth Hoover, Frances Moyer, Mary A. Behler, and Lydia A. Lehman. [Elkhart courthouse, Goshen, Indiana]

1900 John R Moyer (age 43, farmer) and Frances (age 45) lived in Scott Twp, Kosciusko County, Indiana with children Ira S (age 23), Sylvester (age 20), Elisha (age 17), Oliver (age 15), William (age 13), Frank (age 11), Irene (age 9), Bowman (age 7), and Charles (age 4). They had been married 33 years, suggesting a marriage date of 1867. [14] [15]

1903 John R. and Frances Moyer lived in Elkhart County, Indiana. [16] [17]

1905 Walter E Moyers, age 22, and Millie A Curtis were married on April 8 in Cohoctah, Jackson County, Michigan. Walter E Moyers, son of John Moyers and Good, was born in Elkhart County, Indiana. [18]

1910 Francis Moyer (age 54, born in Indiana, married for 22 years), wife, lived in Beach Twp, Billings County, North Dakota, in a household with John R Moyer (age 53), Arthur Moyer (age 16), and Charlie Moyer (age 14). Francis Moyer's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother was born in Virginia. Francis Moyer could read and write. [19]

1920 John R Moyer (age 62, born in Indiana, married) lived in Union Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana, in a household with Frances Moyer (age 63). John R Moyer's parents were both born in Ohio. John R Moyer's occupation was inspector, House, own account. They owned their home and it was free of mortgage. No children lived with them. [20] [21]

1925 Ira Moyer, age 27, and Lelia McCarty were married on December 24 in Lee County, Iowa. Ira Moyer, son of Jno R Moyer and Francis Good, was born in Elkhart County, Indiana. [22] [23]

1929 Mrs Frances Good Moyer, married, daughter of Benny Good and Margaret Good, spouse of John R. Moyer, died at age 72, on June 24 in Nappanee Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. Mrs Frances Good Moyer was born on September 12, 1856 in Elkhart County, Indiana. [24]

1929 Frances Moyer's obituary on page 2 of the Elkhart Truth newspaper for June 24 stated:

Mrs. Frances Good Moyer, 73, who with her husband, John R. Moyer, spent most of her life in Nappanee, died at their home there at 11:15 this afternoon, after an illness of three weeks due to heart trouble. Mrs. Moyer, who was born Sept 12 1856 in Harrison township, Elkhart county, was married to Mr. Moyer in November, 1877; nearly 52 years ago. They located at Nappanee soon after their marriage. Surviving her beside Mr. Moyer are six grandchildren and a number of grandchildren. The children are Walter Moyer of South Bend, Ira Moyer of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Irene Clyde of 1130 Kilbourn street, Elkhart, Frank C. Moyer of New Orleans, La., Arthur B. Moyer of Glendive, Mont., and William Moyer of Beach, N.D. There also are two sisters, Miss Sarah Good and Mrs Margaret Parsons, both of Nappanee, and a brother Jacob Good of Spokane. Mrs. Moyer was a member of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ church. The funeral arrangements had not been completed this afternoon.

1930 John R Moyer (age 72, born in Indiana, married) lived in Nappanee Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. John R Moyer's parents were both born in Ohio. John R Moyer's occupation was carpenter, houses. The residence had a radio. [28]

1930 John R Moyer (parents George A Moyer and Mary Rohrer) and Elizabeth Mikel (parents Ben Wagley and Elizabeth Kipper), both widowed, were married on November 12, in Elkhart County, Indiana. [29] [30]

1940 John Rohrer Moyer died on April 30 and was buried at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee, Elkhart County, Indiana. John Rohrer Moyer was born on May 10, 1857. [31] [32]

1940 John's obituary appeared in the Elkhart Truth newspaper May 1, 1940, page 2:

Nappanee, Indiana: John R. Moyer, 82, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home on North Madison street. He had been ill three months. Mr. Moyer was born in Harrison township May 10, 1857, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Moyer. Most of his life was spent in ths community. He was married to Frances Good, who died June 24, 1929. His second marriage was to Elizabeth Wagley on Nov. 12, 1931. Surviving are his wife, four children, Ira of Spokane, Wash., William of Beach, N.D., Arthur of Fargo, N.D., and Mrs. Clinton Clyde of Elkhart, 29 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Wright funeral home. The Rev. H.E. Miller and the Rev. L.L. Rassi will conduct funeral services. Burial will be made in South Union cemetery.
