1486 Robert Sare, tailor, was admitted to Freedom of the City of Canterbury by redemption. [1]

1516 Robert Sare, tailor of Canterbury, wrote his will on March 26. [2]

This is the last will of me the said Robert Sare made the daye and yere aboue writen And yn the viijth yere of the Reyng of Kyng Henry the viijth as touchinge the disposition of all my lands and theneents withyn the lyberty of the said City and yn the Shere of Kent First I will that after my decease my tent' whiche Jamys Vydean dwellyth yn shalbe solde by myne executrix and of the money commyng of the sale therof I will that Elizabeth my daughter shalhave x mark and Dorathe my daughter other x marke And the resydew of money therof commyng I will my wiffe shalhave it Item I will that the said Alis my wiffe shalhaue my tenement with appurtenances that I now dwellyn duryng all the terme of her lyffe kepyng all the reparations therof and payying the quyte rent therof duryng the sayde term And after the decease of the sayd Alis my Wife I will that my said tenement withe appurtenances shall remayne to Stephen my sonne and to his heyres for euer And if it happe the said Stephen my sonne to dye wythout issew of his bodye lawfully begoten Then I will the sayde tenement wyth appurtenances shale after my wiffes decease remayne to Elizabethe and Dorathe my doughters and to theyr heyrs for euer Also I will that my wiffe after my decease shall sell a peece of land called Matterne lyeng yn the parishe of Hernehyll conteynyng vij acres of land and the moey commyng of the sale of the said land I will my said wiffe shalhave it to paye my detts and my bequests and the resydew to her owne use Also I will that the saide Alicie my wiffe shalhave my Garden wythout Saynt Georgs Gate to her & her heyres yn feesymple for euer

1529 The will of Robert Sare was proved in April in the Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury with administration granted to Alice relict and executrix named. [3]
