Notes for Edward Johnson and Sarah Munter

The descendants of Edward Johnson have been reported. His will, dated 1671, named John Amee, son of John Amee and the oldest daughter (not named) of his son-in-law John Amee, among others. Daughter Martha was baptized on May 1, 1631. Martha married John Amee of Boston on March 18, 1649/50. [1]

1637 Edwd Johnson of Canterbury Joyner & Susan his Wief and children Edward, George, William, Mathew, John, Susan, and Martha arrived in America. The ship left from Sandwich, Kent, England via Dovor Castle on 11 May, 1637 for the American plantacons. [2]

1693 In his will of 2 November 1693, "Matthew Johnson Senior of the town of Wobourne" bequeathed to "my son Samuell all that land purchased by me of my cousin Joseph Johnson, adjoining to Cambridge line" [MPR case #12726]. Matthew Johnson was son of Edward Johnson [1637, Charlestown], who came from Canterbury, Kent [NEHGR 75:221] … [3]
