1839 Harriet Malissa Cochram and Thomas Nelin were married on January 1, 1839, in Rutherford County, North Carolina. Moses Morgan was bondsman. [1] [2]

1840 Tho's Nailen lived in Rutherford County, North Carolina in a household with males: 1 (20 thru 29); and females: 1 (under 5), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (60 thru 69). James Nailen was listed adjacent. [3]

1844 Henry Cockerham, of Rutherford County, was given power of attorney by Obadiah Cockerham, James R and Nancy Nalin, Thomas and Elizabeth Nalin, Cathrine Cockerham, Mary Cockerham, and Levina Cockerham, in order to recover assets from the estate of William Cockerham, deceased, of Muscogee, Georgia. Dated April 29. [4] Note the 1838 marriage of Nancy Cockerham to James R Nalin and the 1839 marriage of Thomas Nelin to Harriet Malissa Cochram Cochran. This was recorded in minutes of the Rutherford Court of pleas and quarter sessions. [5]

1846 C.W. Logan reported the account of sales from the estate of Wm Cochran, deceased, in Rutherford County. Enslaved person Agnes was sold to James Jay and Thomas, Siller, Joseph, and Harriet were sold to Henry Cochran. The sales were made on May 12, 1846. [6] [7]

Ordered by Court that Wm Richardson Adms on the Estate of Wm Cochran Decd pay to Henry Cochran Guardian to Decatur [Deater?], Louisa [Levinah?], & Matilda Cochran his own children and distributees of the said Wm Decd the sum of sixty two $62 dollars and fifty two cents. [perhaps Decatur was Deater who was married in 1849?]

1850 Thomas Nelon (age 32, born in North Carolina) lived in Murray County, Georgia, in a household with Elizabeth Nelon (age 33), Jane J Nelon (age 10), Mary E Nelon (age 8), Martha M Nelon (age 8), Frances M Nelon (age 6), Charles F Nelon (age 5), Lucza Nelon (age 3), and Tobitha Nelon (age 0). Thomas Nelon was a blacksmith. [8]

1860 Elizabeth Naylon (age 43, born in North Carolina) lived in Dalton, Whitfield, Georgia, in a household with Thos Naylon (age 42), Isabella J Naylon (age 21), Francis M Naylon (age 17), Louisa H Naylon (age 13), Julia T Naylon (age 11), Nancy M Naylon (age 9), Sylvanus D Naylon (age 8), M A Naylon (age 4), and Irennis O Naylon (age 2). 1870 Thomas Nailon (age 52, born in North Carolina) lived in Militia District 872, Whitfield County, Georgia, in a household with Elizabeth Nailon (age 52), Nancy M Nailon (age 19), Sylvanus D Nailon (age 17), Margaret A Nailon (age 13), and Junius O Nailon (age 12). Thomas Nailon's father was born in Yes. Thomas Nailon was a farmer. [10]

1880 Elizabeth Nailon (age 62, born in North Carolina, married), wife, lived in Dalton, Whitfield County, Georgia, in a household with Thomas Nailon (age 62), Nancy M. Nailon (age 28), Maggie Nailon (age 23), and Sylvanus Nailon (age 26). Elizabeth Nailon's parents were both born in North Carolina. [11]

1896 Elizabeth Cochran Nailon died on May 11 and was buried at Muller Cemetery, Whitfield County, Georgia. Elizabeth Cochran Nailon was born on June 15, 1817. [12] [13]

1899 Thomas Nailon died on June 28 and was buried at Muller Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, Whitfield County, Georgia. Thomas Nailon was born on March 16, 1818. [14] [15]
