1834 Obadiah Cockran and Elizabeth Padgett were licensed for marriage on October 29 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Martin Walker was bondsman. Witnessed by T.F. Birchett, Clk. [See 1860 census] [1] [2] [3]

1840 Ob Cochran lived in Rutherford County, North Carolina in a household with males: 1 (under 5) and 1 (20 thru 29); and females: 1 (20 thru 29). [4]

1847 Obadiah Cockram sold land to Martin Walker on March 4. The land was on Mapels creek, where Obadiah now lives adjacent to land of McEntire and land of Kilpatrick. Signed Obadiah Cockerham. Witnessed by Henry D Cockerham and M. K. Kilpatrick. The deed was returned in 1897 and the witnesses and Obadiah were dead. The handwriting was attested to by Nathan Scoggins. [5]

1850 Obediah Cochram (age 34, born in North Carolina) lived in Mountain Creek Twp, Rutherford County, North Carolina, in a household with Elizabeth Cochram (age 32), Henry Cochram (age 9), Mary Cochram (age 7), Ladson Cochram (age 5), and Sarah Cochram (age 2). [6]

1854 Obadiah Cockram of Rutherford County sold land to William Mathis. The land was in Rutherford County on the waters of Mountain Creek bounbed by lands of V Jay and Hamilton (previously B Hydus?), Wilkins, and Jas T Jay. [7]

1860 Obadiah Cockerham (age 44, born in North Carolina) lived in Broad River, Rutherford County, North Carolina, in a household with Elisabeth Cockerham (age 40), Henry Cockerham (age 20), Mary Cockerham (age 17), Sarahann Cockerham (age 11), Wm Cockerham (age 8), Columbus Cockerham (age 6), and Elizabeth Cockerham (age 2). Obadiah Cockerham's occupation was farmer. [see 1834 marriage] [9]

1870 Oba Cochram (age 55, born in North Carolina) lived in Township 2, Polk County, North Carolina, in a household with Columbus Cochram (age 25), Elizabeth Cochram (age 10), Elizabeth Cochram (age 50), Sarah Cochram (age 20), and William C Cochram (age 17). Oba Cochram's occupation was farmer. [10]

1870 [Henry] Lanson Cochram (age 28, born in North Carolina) lived in Township 2, Polk County, North Carolina, in a household with Louisa Cochram (age 32), Caldonia Cochram (age 6), John H Cochram (age 5), Aminta Cochram (age 2), and Cochram (age 1/12). Lanson Cochram was a farmer. [11]

1872 The estate sale of Henry Cochran listed items purchased by Obediah Cockeram, H.L. Cockeram, Dawson Cochran, A Rucker, Widow, and Jesse Scoggins. Martin Walkins administrator. [12] [13] [14] [15]

1872 Obadiah Cockrum entered 300 acres of land on the north side of Green River adjoining lines of Ambrose Mills and S Parker in Polk County, North Carolina. [16]

1880 Obediah Cockrum (age 65, born in North Carolina) lived in Greens Creek Twp, Polk County, North Carolina, in a household with Elisibeth Cockrum (age 50), and William Cockrum (age 26). Obediah Cockrum's parents were both born in North Carolina. Obediah Cockrum's occupation was farmer. [17]

1890 The estate folder of Obediah Cochran mentioned Martha A Cockram, widow of Obediah Cochran. [18]

Henry L Cochram's parents were both born in North Carolina. Henry L Cochram was a farmer. [20]

1900 Son William Cockhram (born in North Carolina in Nov 1851, married for 11 years) lived in White Oak, Polk County, North Carolina, in a household with Sarrah L Cockhram (age 42), William C Cockhram (age 20), James O Cockhram (age 10), Minnie L Cockhram (age 7), and Mark B Cockhram (age 5). William Cockhram's parents were both born in North Carolina. William Cockhram was a farmer. [21]

1901 William K Cochram, age 51, descendant of Obadiah Cockram, was registered to vote in Polk County, North Carolina. [22]

1910 William W Cockshum (age 58, born in North Carolina, widowed) lived in Greens Creek, Polk County, North Carolina, in a household with Minnie L Cockshum (age 16), and Marcus B Cockshum (age 15). William W Cockshum's parents were both born in North Carolina. William W Cockshum could not read or write. William W Cockshum was a farmer. [23]

1916 Mary C. Griswold, married, died in August 28, at age 73y 7m 16d, in Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, North Carolina. Mary C. Griswold was buried in August 29, 1916. She was born in 1843 in North Carolina, daughter of Obedie Cochran and [No Name]. [24]

1925 Henry Lawson Cockrum, married, spouse of Causada Cockrum, died in March 12, at age 84y, in Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, North Carolina. Henry Lawson Cockrum was buried at White Oak Church cemetery. He was born in 1841 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, son of Obadiah Cockrum and Betsie Goand. He was a Farmer. [25] [26]

1925 Henry Lawson Cockrum, spouse of Cansada Cockrum, died on March 13, at age 84, in Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, North Carolina. He was born in 1841 in Rutherford, North Carolina, United States, son of Obadiah Cockrum and Betsie Gaard. [27]

1930 Columbus Franklin Cochran died on August 31 and was buried at Green River Baptist Church Cemetery, Polk County, North Carolina. Columbus Franklin Cochran was born in 1865. [28] [29]
