1630/31 The noncupative will of Phillip Smith of Whatfield, yeoman, was dated March 15th, 16th or 17th. Hyde states that he left all of his goods his wife Anne, and after her decease "to be equallie devided amoungst my Children." The witnesses were George Carter and Richard Wyeles. [12]

Anne Smith late of Whatfeild deceased widow did by word of mouth divers tymes before her death who died upon the 24th daye of March 1638[/9] declare her will … her goods shold be divided by equall porcons amongst her Children that shold survive her … Matthew Andrewes of Whatfield her sonne in Lawe to bee her Executor … witnesses Will' Grimwade, Richard Wyeles.
