1557 Robert Dale wrote his will on November 1. He bequeathed his house and land in Elmsett, the lease of his farm Horwoldes, and the lease of Burstall benefice to his son Robert Dale. He bequeathed to his wife Johan five pounds, two kyne to be kept of the farm of Burstall, a bed in the high chamber, and twenty shillings every year for life, his son Robert to pay it out of the house at Elmsett. He bequeathed to his daughter Anne eight pounds and two kyne at the day of her marriage, to his daughter Alice eight pounds and a cow at the day of her marriage, and to his youngest daughter Agnes eight pounds and two kyne at the day of her marriage. The rest of his goods he bequeathed to his son Robert Dale, naming him one of his executors. [6]
