1577 "Richardus Slanye" was instituted rector of "Barclowe" [Bartlow, Cambridgeshire] on October 23. [1]

1580 Richard Slany and Margaret Adams were married on May 2 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire, England. [2] [3]

1580/81 Anne Slaney, daughter of Richard, was baptized on January 26 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [4]

1582 Richard Slanye, son of Richard, was baptized on April 20 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [5] [6]

1586 Frauncis Slanye, daughter of Richard, was baptized on March 25 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [7] [8]

1587/88 Willm Slanye, son of Richard, was baptized on March 15 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [9] [10]

1589 Willm Slanye, son of Richard, was buried on March 25 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [11] [12]

1590 Marie Slanye, daughter of Richard, was baptized on May 31 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [13] [14]

1592 Thomas Slanye, son of Richard, was baptized on August 13 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire. [15] [16]

1596/97 "Margaret the wief of Richard Slanye" was buried on February 1 in Bartlow. [17] [18]

1599 Richard Slanye, Clerk and parson of Bartlow, wrote his will in 1599 (day and month not stated in the probate copy). [19]

In the name of God Amen in the yeare of our Lorde God One Thowsand five hundered nintie and nine, and in the one and fortith yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Ladie Elizabeth, by the grace of god of England Fraunce and Ireland Queene defender of the faith &c. I Richard Slanye Clerke and person of Bartloe in the countie of Cambridge, and in the Dioces of Elie beinge sicke of bodie yet of good and perfecte remembrance god bethanked doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge. First I bequeath my Soule into the handes of Almightie god and my bodie to be buryed in the chauncell of the parishe church of Bartloe aforesaide. Item I give and bequeathe all my goodes chattells moveables and whatsoever I have els more to be divided into five equall partes, betwixt this and midsomer daye next comminge after the date hereof, by the consente of theise persons hereafter named or by thre of them at the Leaste vizt Richard Willowes Will'm Willowes John Pettit John Metcalfe and Will'm Addams, after which division I will that the sayed goodes be devided amongest my five childeren vizt Richard Ann Francis Marye and Thomas as shalbe thought fittest by all parties above named or by three of them at the least saving that I will that Marye and Thomas shall have either of them sixe poundes more than anye of the reste, because they be youngest. Item I will that such parte of every five parte as shalbe thought mete by Executor here after named unfitt to be soulde for that it would turne to the hurte of the childe to whome yt doth belonge shall remaine unsoulde and come in his proper kinde to the childe to whome yt is assigned The residue of every fifte parte I will to be solde valued and prised by the parties aboue named being done and soulde, by the consent of my Executor betwixt this and midsomer next which some of money receyved for every parte soe soulde togither with that which shall remaine unsoulde shalbe delivered into the handes of my Executor by the parties aboue named And a bill indented to be made of every perticular thinge, that shalbe in every porcion that it may appeare what porcon is assigned to every childe. And hereuppon I will that my Executor repayer to the ordinarie with this my said will and testament And that such childeren as be of discretion shall make choyce of theire owne gardions and that a Gardion of Gardions may be apoyneted vnto my two youngest childeren such as my Executor shall best like of Item I doe ordaine and make Richard Slany my sonne my true and Lawfull Executor of this my Last will and testament Allowinge that all his charges of his Executorship shalbe born out of all theire porcions In wittnes wherof I have put to my hand the daye and yeare above written Richard Slanie Theise being witness, Will'm Veale and Will'm Adams.

1599 "Richard Slanye Parson of Bartloe was Buried the xiiij daye of April Anno Dni 1599" in Bartlow. [20] [21]

1599 The will of Richard Slanye was proved on April 27 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, with administration granted to Richard Slanie, son and executor. [22]
