1607 "Thomas Slaney fil. Rici. Slaney de Bartlowe in Com. Cantabr. gen" was apprenticed to "Johi Pearch" Haberdasher of London for "novem ann." on the "Primo die mensis December 1607." [1]

1616 Thomas Slaney was made free in the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers by servitude with John Pearch. [2]

1621 "Edward Fountayne filius Johis Fountayne de Aylesberry in Com. Bucks. gen. defunct" was apprenticed to "Thome Slaney C. et Haberdasher London" for "8 ann. a Fto. Anunciacon ble. Marie virgin." [3]

1626 "The 15th of October 1626 Mary the daughter of Thomas Slaney haberdasher and Eliszabeth his Wife" was baptized in St Lawrence Pountney, London. [4]

1627 "Joh'es Gannock filius Joh'is Gannock de Boston in Com. Lincolnie Gener" was apprenticed to Thomas Slany Citizen and Haberdasher of London for a term of eight years at the feast of Symon and Jude Apostles. [5]

1627/28 "The 21 of Febuary 1627 John the sonne of Thomas Slaney and Eliszabeth his Wife" was baptized in St Lawrence Pountney, London. [6]

1629 Edward Fountaine was made free in the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers by servitude with Thomas Slaney. [7]

1630 "March the 25th 1630 … Eodem die Lidia the daughter of Thomas Slaney haberdasher and Elizabeth his wife" was baptized in St Lawrence Pountney, London. [8]

1631 "Sarah Slany the daughter of Thomas Slany & of Elisabeth his wife was baptised the xiijth of Dec" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [9]

1633/34 "Elisabeth Slany daughter of Thomas Slany & of Elisabeth his wife" was "baptised February xvjth 1633" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [10]

1634 Thomas Slany, haberdasher of London, wrote his will on August 4. [11]

In the name of God Amen, The Fowerth Day of August Anno Dni 1634 in ye Tenth yeere of ye raigne of our Soveraigne Lord King Charles of England I Thomas Slany of London Haberd' being in good memory thankes be to God doe make & ordayne this my last will & Testam't in forme followeing That is to say First I commend my Soule to Almightie God my Maker & Creator Assuredly beleeveing through ye merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour & Redeemer I shall have everlasting life And my body to ye earth to be buryed in decent & Christianlike maner at the discrecon of my Executrix hereunder menconed And as touching ye disposeing of my worldy goods I give & bequeath ye same as followeth First my will is that all my Debts which I owe shalbe satisfied And after my debts are payed & funeralls discharged my will is that all my goods & Chattells & personall estate shall according to ye Custome of ye Cittie of London be devided into three equall parts One Third parte whereof I give & bequeath to Elizabeth my wife according to ye said Custome One other third parte thereof I give and bequeath to my five Children Mary John Lidia Sara & Elizabeth according to ye said Custome And the other Third parte thereof which is in my owne power to dispose of I give & bequeath as foloweth, That is to say To my sister Bazies three Childeren Five poundes a peece the said Legacies to be payd to Barnaby Bowtell of Dedham for their use & hee to dispose of ye same uppon ye Children & for them as hee shall see cause And in ye meantyme to manage it for their best Advantage But if their Legacies be vnpayd to them or any of them at their deceases or decease of any of them Then his or her legacie soe deceasing shalbe retorned by the said Barnaby to my Executrix Item I give to Joseph my sister Holmsteds youngest sonne five pounds to be payd to Mr Stulham of Turling for his use & to bestowe it on ye said Joseph as hee shall see cause Item I give to my Neece Sara Holmsteed Thirty shillings To nephew Richard Holmesteed Fower nobles To my servant John Gannock Three poundes And my servant Richard Fassett fower poundes Soe that my said servants be readie at all tymes vpon the request of my Executrix to assist my Executrix in gathering in such debts as are oweing to mee & in proveing of ye said Debts. The residue of all my goods & chattells I give as followeth one third parte thereof to my said wife And ye other two parts to all my said Children & ye Survivors of them And my will & mynd is that none of my said lecacyes shalbe payd vntill all debts that I shall owe at my death be truely satisfied & payd And I ordayne and make my said loveing wife Elizabeth Slany Executrix of this my last Will & Testament And I doe ordayne & appoint my loveing frendes Edmund White Thomas Free Thomas Tench Henry Proctor overseers of this my Will desireing them to assist my wife with their best helpe & Advice And my will & desire is that ye Legacyes & orphanage money before bequeathed to my said Children shalbe payd into ye handes of Mr Edmund White Haberd' And hee to husband ye same for ye best advantage of my said Chilren And hee to give securitie to ye Chamber of London for payment of ye said Legacies & Orphange money to my Children at their severall ages of one & Twentie yeeres or dayes of marriage which shall first happen Wittnes my hand the daye & yeere abovesaid Thomas Slany Published and declared by the Testator to be his last will & Testament in ye Presence of Henry Colborne Scr. Frauncis Nelmes servien dict Scr.

1635 John Gannock was made free in the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers by servitude with Thomas Slany. [12]

1636/37 "Thoma and Tabitha, twins, the daughters of Thomas Slany and of Elisabeth his wife were baptised the iiijth of March" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [13] [14]

1637 Richard Fosset was made free in the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers by servitude with Thomas Slaney. [15]

1638 The will of Thomas Slany was proved on July 23 with administration granted to Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Slany. [16]

1639 John Gannock and Elizabeth Slany were married on June 8 in the London Diocese by license. [17] [18]

1639/40 "Mary Gannock daughter of John Gannock, & of Elisabeth his wife, was baptised the xxth of February Ao 1639" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [19]

1641 "Elisabeth Slany, daughter of Thomas Slany, & of Elisabeth his wife was buryed in the Church the xviijth of May Anno Dni 1641" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [20]

1644/45 "Joh'es Slaney fil' Thome Slaney nuper C et haberd'er London def't" was apprenticed to "John Gannock Civi et haberdasher London pro 7 ann' a primo die Martij." [21]

1651 "John Slaney sonne in law of Mr Gannocke buried the 25th day of September 1651 in the Church" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [22]

1662 "Elizabeth Gannocke ye wife of John Gannocke was Buryed the twenty sixt day of Aprill in the Church" in St Margaret Moses, Little Friday Street, London. [23]
