1548/49 "The xxiijth day of January Catherine Cleere the daughter of Thomas Cleere was christened" in Brightwell Baldwin. [2]

1556/57 "The xxiijth day of March Isabell Cleere the daughter of Thomas Cleere was christened" in Brightwell Baldwin. [3]

1558 "The xxvth day of March Isabell Cleere the daughter of Thomas Cleere was buried" in Brightwell Baldwin. [4]

1562/63 "The xth day of February Agnis Cleere was buried" in Brightwell Baldwin.

In the name of god amen the xvij daye of Novembre in the year of our lorde god 1568 I Thomas Cleere of Balldon Brightwell beying sick of body But whole of mynde doo make my last wyll and Testamente in aner and fowrme following, Fyrst I Bequeath my sowle to allmightye god and my body to be buryed within the christian buryall of Brightwell, Item my goods I doo bequeth as hereafter followith, In primis I doo gyve an bequeth vnto John Cleere my sonne the table in the hall, the calderon, the best brasse potte, a brasen _____ and three pecies of pewter of the best, Itm I doo gyve and bequeth vnto Jone Cleere my wyffe a cowe twenty shepe drawen owte at the discretion of Thomas Smyth and Thomas Good of the aforesaid Brightwell, Itm I goo bequeth vnto the aforesaid Jone Cleere my wyffe halffe my howshold stuff saving that wch I have bequeathed vnto my sonne Itm I doo bequeth vnto my said wyffe one acre of wheate nother of the best nor of the woorst at the appoyntemente of the said Thomas Smyth and Thomas Good, Itm I bequeth to the mayntenance of the parisse churche of Baldon Brightwell one Busshell of wheate to be delyvered at whytsontyde next after my deceasse, Itm I doo bequeth to my god children iiijd apece Itm I doo bequeth vnto my servute and kynsman John Albrooke my redd cowe and an acre of wheate of the fyrst yere after my deceasse, and an other acre of wheate the second yere after my deceasse, Itm yf my sonne John and my wyffe wyll agree betwene theym, that shee doo graunte vnto hym her wedowes custome, so that he maye haue all the occupying of my copyeholde for hymselffe, I wyll that my said kynsman John Albrook doo occupye halffe with hym for the space of three yeres my said kynsman bering halffe the chargies wt my sonne in euery suche thing as belongith to the occupying of the aforesaid lande aswell in reparacons as other things duryng the aforesaid term, And allso to have halffe the comodytye and profytte that may ryse by the said occupying for the said space of three yeres, Itm I doo gyve and bequeth vnto Sybell Geffrey my mayde one lambe to be delyvered at Hocktyde Itm I bequeth to my brothern John Cleere and Richard Cleere eyther of theym a coate of myne, Itm the rest of my goods vnbequeathed moueable and vnmoueable I gyve and bequeath vnto my foresaid sonne John Cleere whom I doo constitute and ordeyne my onely and sole executor my detts beyng payed Item I doo appoynte for overseers to see this my Last Wyll and Testamente fullfylled in euery poynte Thomas Smyth and Thomas Good to whom I doo bequeth for their paynes takyng in the same iijs iiijd apece wytness at the wryting and making of this wyll Evans Mathe___ clerck Thomas Smyth Thomas Good and John Albrook w others.

1568 "The ixth day of December Thomas Cleere was buried" in Brightwell Baldwin. [7]

1568/59 The will of Thomas Cleere was proved on January 8. [8]
