1821 John Cockrum and Sarah Vincent (also spelled Vinsant) were married on December 6 in Jones County, Georgia. [1]

1830 John Cochran lived in Jones County, Georgia in a household with males: 2 (under 5), 1 (5 thru 9), and 1 (20 thru 29); and females: 1 (20 thru 29). [2]

1840 John Cocram lived in Jones County, Georgia in a household with males: 1 (5 thru 9), 2 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (40 thru 49); and females: 2 (under 5), 1 (5 thru 9), and 1 (30 thru 39). [3]

1850 John Cockman (age 50, born in North Carolina) lived in Militia District 519, Bibb County, Georgia, in a household with Sarah Cockman (age 44), Lofuyeth Cockman (age 21), Abmr Cockman (age 16), Mary Cockman (age 14), Sarah Cockman (age 11), Victora Cockman (age 9), and James Cockman (age 4). John Cockman was a farmer. [4]

1860 John C Tockran (age 60, born in North Carolina) lived in Dardens Twp, Monroe County, Georgia, in a household with Sallie Cochran (age 53), Hiram Cochran (age 14), Lucy A Roquemore (age 28), Allen Roquemore (age 9), and Wm Roquemore (age 6). John C Tockran was a farmer. [5]

1863 The will of John C. Cochran was dated February 21 with probate date April 6. The will named wife Sarah W and heirs James H. Cochran, son-in-law Franklin L. Roquemore, Lucy Ann Roquemore, Abner F. Cochran, Mary V. Steward, Lizzie LIttle. Grandchildren of Benjamin G Cochran, William F. Cochran and John L. Cochran. Negroe Dolly. Wife and Hiram Vinson were named executors. [6]

A different John Cockran married Kate Warnock. They had several children, including Rufus.

1834 Elizabeth Cochran (c1834-1862), spouse of William Purvis has been named as a child of this couple.

1850 John Cockran (age 50, born in North Carolina) lived in District 49, Laurens County, Georgia, in a household with Cathrine Cockran (age 45), Rebecca Cockran (age 20), John Cockran (age 17), Elizabeth Cockran (age 17), Elefane Cockran (age 16), Jasper Cockran (age 12), Francis Cockran (age 10), William Cockran (age 8), Rufus Cockran (age 6), James Cockran (age 3), and Elroge Cockran (age 2). John Cockran was a farmer. [7]

1870 Letters of administration were issued to Rufus Cochran for the estate of John Cochran. [8]

1927 Rufus F. Cochran, married, spouse of Lavenna Mays, died on February 3, at age 82, in Toombs County, Georgia. He was born on October 9, 1844, son of John Cochran and Kate Warnnock. [9]
