1722 Jonathan French was born on 27 of month 11. [1]

Haddonfield Monthly Meeting minutes:

1743 Jonathan French and Esther Matlack, daughter of John Matlack, declared, on December 13, their intention of taking each other in marriage therefore John Hollingshead and Joseph Stokes are desired to make the usual enquiry and to make report thereof at our next monthly meeting, the Young People's Fathers being present to said proposals.

1744 Jonathan French and Esther Matlack appeared, on January 12, and signified the continuation of their intentions of taking each other in marriage. The Friends appointed to make enquiry into said Jonathan's conversation and clearness on account of marriage not find anything to obstruct and he produced a certificate from the Chesterfield MM to Friends satisfaction, they are left to their liberty to consumate their intentions according to good order and appoints Thomas Redman and Benjamin Holmes to be present to see that good orders be kept.

1744 Jonathan French married Esther Matlack, daughter of John and Mary (Lee) Matlack, on 12 of month 1. [2]

1744 A committee reported, on February 9, that they were present at the marriage of Jonathan French and Esther Matlack and that it was orderly accomplished.

Evesham Monthly Meeting minutes:

1782 7 Mar, The Friends appointed reported that they have performed a visit to Jonathan French who doth not appear desirous to retain his right of membership; therefore, William Matlack and John Roberts are appointed to inform him that the meeting has come to a judgement to disown him and prepare a minute accordingly and produce it to next Meeting.

1782 4 Apr, One of the Friends appointed reported that he had informed Jonathan French of the judgement of this meeting according to appointment and produced a minute of disownment against him which was read appoved and signed by the Clerk and John Collins and Abraham Warrington are appointed to give him a copy thereof inform him of his privilege of an appeal and report to next meeting.

1782 9 May, The Friends appointed reported that they have given Jonathan French a copy of the Disownment against him according to appointment and he said he would not appeal. [3]
