1683 Johan Leonhard, son of Jacob Holtzapfel and Maria Margretha, was born on February 21. He was baptized on the 23rd at Michelfeld, Baden-Wüerttemberg, Germany with sponsor Johan Leonhard Bentz. [1]

1707 Anna Barbara daughter of (?) was baptized at Michelfeld. "Anno 1707 (?) zwis[c]hen (?) ein tochterlein zu Weld(?) gebohren (?) Anna C(?) nahme Anna Barbara (?)" [3]

1713 Agnes Catharina daughter of (?) was baptized on June 18 at Michelfeld. "von Agnes Cath. Erasmus Catermann burger und (?) allhier ehel. hausfrau (?) Agnes Catharina genant." Somebody died July 11. [4]

1727 Joh Leonard, son of Hans Leonhard Holtzapfel, was born on June 24. He was baptized at Michelfeld, Baden-Wüerttemberg, Germany. He died on June 24 and was buried on June 27. [5]

1731 Hans Lenhart (age 47) and Erazamus (age 20) and Anna Barbara ( age 57) Holtzapfell arrived in Philadelphia on September 21 on the ship Britannia from Rotterdam via Cowes. Son-in-law Hans Adam Ruppert (age 25) and daughter Anna Barbara Ruppert (age 24) were also on board. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

1731 Hans Leonard and Erasmus Holtzppfel were naturalized in Philadelphia. [13] [14]

Research Notes:

c 1733 Erasmus Holtzppfel was a member of the German Lutheran church in York organized by Pastor Stoever. [15]

1761 Erasmus Holtzppfel was naturalized in York County on August 21. [16]

1767 A warrant for 100 acres of land in Manchester Twp was awarded to Asmus Holsapple. No survey or patent was recorded. [17]

1771-72 Erasmus Holsable was taxed in Manchester Twp, York County. [18]

1779-1787 Erasmus Holtzapfel was taxed in Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [19] [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] [25] [26] [27] [28]

1793 Erasmus Holsable of Manchester Twp dated his will on December 26. The will named sons Adam, Henry, Jacob, Erasmus, and Berned and daughters Mary wife of Philip Henots, Elizabeth wife of Henry Shock, Catarine wife of Jacob Clingman, Barbara wife of Gotled Fackler, Christina wife of David Stein and Margred wife of Fredrick Hoober. Son Erasmus and son-in-law Godlib Fackler were named executors. The will was proved on December 10 1793. [29] [30]

1795 Erasmus Holtzapfel and Gotlied Fackler were executors of the estate of Leonard Holtzapfel the Elder late of Manchester Twp. Leonard Holtzapfel had received a warrant for the land on April 3, 1767. the land in Manchester Twp was adjacent to lands of Henry Wolf, Philip Hains Sr, Martin Bower, Martin Weigle, Philip Hose and Adam Fackler. Leonard wrote his will dated December 26, 1792 and subsequently died. Land from the estate was sold to Philip Wentz. Deed dated January 17, 1795. [31]

1799 Gottleib Sackler and Elizabeth Holtzhabel appeared in the York County Orphans Court as administrators for the intestate accounts of Erasmus Holtzapfel late of Manchester Twp. The estate was sold to pay debts. [32] [33]

1810 Land from the estate of the late Leonard Holtzapfel was sold by sheriff Michael Klinefelter to John Shelley, in order to pay a debt. The estate of 50 acres was in Hellam Twp, York COunty adjoining lands of Daniel Gilman Sr, Christian Grove and the River Susquehanna. [34]
