1860 William R Hughes (age 32, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Wilmore Twp, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Rachel S Hughes (age 28), George R Hughes (age 5), Thomas H Hughes (age 3), Everett L Hughes (age 1), Robert E Jones (age 23), and Hettie A Ritner (age 23). William R Hughes's occupation was merchant. [1]

Captain William R. Hughes, 74 years old, a well known veteran of the Civil War, died last evening at his home, 5121 Blair Street. He was a lumber merchant, having having cut much of the timber from the Allegheny mountains in Cambria County. For several years Mr. Hughes resided in Marion, Ohio, but the last three years lived in this city. He was a member of Mountain Lodge F.& A.M. of Altoona. Captain Hughes is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Rachel Ritner and three sons. Thomas H. of this city, George R. of Philadelphia and Everett of Clariton, PA.

1915 Rachel S Hughes, daughter of Peter Litner [sic] and Rachel Litner, died on January 14, 1915, at age 84, in Pittsburgh Twp, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Rachel S Hughes was born on August 12, 1830, in Pennsylvania. (Death certificate: 7448). [3]

1915 Rachel S Hughes died on January 14, 1915 and was buried at Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. No grave marker is shown. An Order for Interment provides the date of death. [4]
