"John [Taylor], second son of Samuel Taylor, born probably in 1695, appears permanently in the civil list between 1735 and 1750, being chosen freeholder of the township of Chesterfield in 1745, and overseer of highways. He evidently had sons: John, Joseph, Robert, Charles, Samuel and William. Robert was a freeholder in 1779-80 and overseer of the poor from 1782." [1]

1701 John Taylor, perhaps this one, was named in the will of (perhaps uncle) William Black, when he comes of age. [2]

1706 John Black and Sarah Rockhill were married on December 4, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by John Taylor and others. [3]

1716 Samuel Taylor, Jr. and Anne Foulkes were married on November 29, at Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by John Taylor and others. [4]

1722 Robert Field married Mary Taylor, daughter of Samuel Taylor, on April 12, at Chesterfield Meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by John Taylor and others. [5]

1725 On May 27, Avis Holloway and Samuel Schooley, both of Chesterfield, were married at Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Sarah, John, William, and Robert Taylor, and others. [6] [7]

1730 On 2 month, 15 day, Susannah Schooley, daughter of John Schooley [and John Taylor's sister Frances Scholey] of Burlington, married Michael Newbold at Springfield Twp, Burlington County. Witnessed by John Taylor and others. [8]

1733 John Taylor was overseer of the highways and constable in Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [9]

1739 On 24 November, John Taylor, of Chesterfield, married Deliverance Robins, daughter of Benjamin Robins. [10] [11]

1743 John Taylor was named as brother in the will of William Taylor Sr of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County. [12]

1745 John Taylor was overseer of the highways in Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [13]

1745 On 15 April, John Taylor, perhaps this one, was a freeholder in Chesterfield Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. [14]

1748 Will of John Taylor, yeoman, dated 30 Sep 1748 in Chesterfield, Burlington County, names Wife, Deliverance. Sons--Aaron, Ezra and John, all under age. Expected child. Real and personal estate. Executors: father-in-law, Benjamin Robins, Sen'r, and kinsman Samuel Cheshire. Witnesses--Joseph Reckless, Ju'r, Rowelth Beck, Sam'l Harris. Proved June 8, 1750. [15]

A daughter was born to Deliverance Taylor. [16]

1751-57 Deliverance Taylor was a resident of Bordentown Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [18]

1757 On 25 April, Aaron Taylor, son of John Taylor, of Burlington County, asks that George Taylor be appointed his guardian. [19]

1759 Deliverance Taylor, widow of John Taylor, was named as a daughter in the will of Benjamin Robins Sr of Nottingham Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [20] The will of Benjamin Robins, Senior, of the township of Nottingham, in the county of Burlington, yeoman, was dated January 15, 1759 with probate December 3, 1760, and devises his estate to his wife Judith, his sons William, Benjamin, Obadiah, John, Richard and Nathaniel, his daughters Deliverance Taylor, widow of John Taylor, deceased, and Ann, wife of Samuel Robbins. [21]

1759 Deliverance Taylor was named in the will of Thomas Taylor of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, perhaps John's nephew through brother Samuel. [22]
