1870 Eva B Wolf (age 10, born in Illinois) lived in Keithsburg, Mercer County, Illinois, in a household with Edward L Wolf (age 37), Mary J Wolf (age 36), and Rosa M Wolf (age 6). [1]

1880 Eva B. Wolff (age 20, born in Illinois, single), daughter, lived in Mercer, Mercer County, Illinois, in a household with Edward L. Wolff (age 45), Fanie A. Wolff (age 38), Rose May Wolff (age 16), Bessie L. Wolff (age 4), Opal S. Wolff (age 3), and Wolff (age 2/12). Eva B. Wolff's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother was born in Ohio. [2]

1881 Eva B Wolff and John R McCrea were married on June 2, 1881, in Mercer County, Illinois. [3]

1883 Edward Turner, child of J. R. McCrea and Eva McCrea, was baptized on March 13, 1883, in Aledo County, Illinois. [4] [5] [6]

1883 Edward T. McCrea died on August 2 and was buried at Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois. Edward T. McCrea was born on November 12, 1882. [7] [8]

1897 Eva B. Wolff McCrea died on January 10, 1897 and was buried at Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois. [9] [10]

1900 John Mccrea (born in Pennsylvania in Jun 1847, widowed), step son, lived in Aledo Twp, Mercer County, Illinois, in a household with George Irvin (age 74), Elizabeth B Irvin (age 74), Lizzie Mccrea (age 49), George Irvin (age 28), and Jennie Johnson (age 20). John Mccrea's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. John Mccrea's occupation was land lord. [11]

1914 John Reed McCrea died on February 16, 1914 and was buried at Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois. [12] [13] The memorial cites the following obituary [14]:

John Reed McCrea, a well known and highly respected citizen, died his late home in this city after a brief illness. Mr. McCrea, the second son of Samuel and Elizabeth Bard Turner McCrea was born in Blairsville, Penn., on June 8, 1847. He came to Aledo in 1876, and soon established himself in the business, social and religious life of the community. On June 2, 1881, he was married to Miss Eva B. Wolff, daughter of … the late Edward Turner McCrea, on November 2, 1882, but the child of so much hope died the next year, August 7, 1883. Mrs. McCrea died on January 10, 1897. For many years Mr. McCrea was engaged in mercantile business in this city, but for the past few years was not engaged in any active business. In church connection Mr. McCrea was a United Presbyterian. At the time of his death he was the oldest in years of service of the ruling elders of the United Presbyterian congregation in Aledo, having been ordained and installed in 1884. His last Sabbath on earth was spent as usual in attendance at church both morning and evening and in the exercise of the Bible school. Mr. McCrea leaves two sisters, Miss Elizabeth McCrea, who shared with him his home, and Mrs. Margaret Haughey of Topeka, Kansas. Also two stepsisters, Mrs. Anna Dool of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Jessie Scott of Aledo, who is visiting her sister in California and two step-brothers, Frank Irvan, Seattle, Wash., and George Irvan, Nampo, Idaho, besides many friends who mourn his death. Funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian church Thursday at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. B. Pollock. Interment was in the Aledo cemetery.

1914 An obituary reported [15] [16]:

The death of John R. McCrea occurred at his home on North Walnut street at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening, Feb. 16, after about two hours illness. His death was the result of an attack of apoplexy. Mr. McCrea had been a resident of this city for about forty years and was a prominent business man here for several years, being associated with the late Edward L. Wolff in the grain and lumber business and later conducted a grocery business. For the last few years he has not been engaged in active business. He is survived by two sisters, Miss Elizabeth McCrea of Aledo, with whom he made his home, and Mrs Madge Haughey of Topeka Kan., and many friends who mourn his unexpected death.
