1882 Thomas Patterson and Henrietta Buscombe were married on May 8 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario. Thomas was a carpenter, age 24, born in Ireland. Henrietta was age 21 and born in Hamilton. Both were residents of Hamilton. The witnesses were Ellen Mathews and Jessie Buscombe, both residents in Hamilton. Thomas' parents were recorded as Thomas and Ella Patterson and Henrietta's as Samuel and Amelia Buscombe. [1]

1883 Ida Patterson, daughter of Thomas and Henrietta Buscombe, was born on April 24 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario. Thomas' occupation was mill owner. [2]

1886 Jessie Patterson, daughter of Thomas and Ettie Buscombe, was born on March 7 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario. Thomas' occupation was lumber merchant. [3]

1891 Olive Patterson, daughter of Thomas Patterson and Etta Buscombe, was born on December 15 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada. Thomas' occupation was manufacturer. [4]

1901 Thomas Patterson (age 41) and his wife Henrietta Patterson (age 39) lived in Hamilton, Ontario, in ward 7, with their children Ida Patterson (age 17), Jessie Patterson (age 15), and Olive Patterson (age 9). Thomas was a lumber merchant and was born in Ireland. Henrietta and the children were born in Ontario. [5]

1904 Daughter Olive Patterson died on July 4 in Hamilton, Ontario. An obituary and a burial notice state, [6] [7]

Olive the thirteen-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Patterson Victoria avenue north died this morning after an illness of two months. Mr. and Mrs. Patterson have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement.

Borne to the Grave

The funeral of Olive Patterson, the thlrteen-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Patterson, 176 Victoria avenue north, took place this afternoon. Rev. Dr. Wilson conducted the last sad rites. The pall-bearers were John Patterson, William Laking, James Mathews, James Devine, Jesse Tilley, and H. Crosswaite.

1921 On June 1, Thomas Patterson (age 63) and his wife Henrietta Patterson (age 57) and their daughters Ida (age 38) and Jessie (age 35) lived at 81 Victoria Avenue in Hamilton, Ontario. They owned their home which was a single family house constructed of brick. Thomas and his parents were born in Ireland. Henrietta was born in Ontario and her parents in England. Ida and Jessie were born in Ontario. Thomas immigrated in 1866. His religion was Presbyterian and the religion of his wife and daughters was Methodist. Thomas' occupation was merchant. [9]

1928 Thomas Patterson died on May 30 at age 69 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada. He was born in Ireland in 1859 and had lived in Ontario for 60 years. His wife Etta Patterson, of 81 Victoria Avenue S., reported his death. He was buried on Hamilton Cemetery on June 1. [10]

1942 Henrietta Patterson, widow of Thomas Patterson, died on July 9 at age 78 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario. Her residence was 81 Victoria South in Hamilton. She was born in Hamilton on February 8, 1864, daughter of Samuel Buscombe and Amelia Lobb, who were born in England. The death certificate informant was Henrietta's son-in-law Robert Kerr. [11]
