1851 George Douglass (age 40), Ann Douglass (age 34), Samuel Douglass (age 16), Sarah A. Douglass (age 14), Thomas Douglass (age 12), Eliza Douglass (age 8), George Douglass (age 6), Mary Douglass (age 4), and Martha Douglass (age 2) lived in Perth, Lanark County, Ontario. George's profession was boot and shoe making, Ann was a housewife, and Samuel was an apprentice. The other children, except Martha, were scholars. All were born in Ireland. Ann's religion was Church of England, that of the others was Methodist. [1]

1861 George Douglas (age 50), Samuel Douglas (age 25, widowed), Thomas Douglas (age 19), George Douglas (age 14), Anne Douglas (age 43), Eliza Douglas (age 16), Mary Douglas (age 12), Martha Douglas (age 9), Dorthy Douglas (age 4), and George Douglas (age 4) lived in North Crosby Township, Leeds County, Ontario, in a single-family frame house. The eldest George was a shoemaker and he was married. Samuel was a widower. Ann was married. All were born in Ireland except Dorthy and the youngest George who were born in Canada West. The religion of all members of the family was Church of England. [2]

1871 George Douglass (age 63), Ann (age 57), Martha (age 18), and Dorotha R (age 14) lived in North Crosby, South Leeds, Ontario. George was a shoemaker. He, Ann and Martha were born in Ireland. Dorotha was born in Ontario. The family religion was Church of England and the family ethnic origin was Irish. Dorotha was going to school. [3]

1881 George Douglass (age 74), Ann Douglass (age 65), Martha C. Clair (age 28), and Monell Clair (age 7) lived in Harriston, Wellington County, Ontario. George was a shoemaker. He, Ann, and Martha were born in Ireland. Monell was born in Ontario. [4]

1884 George Douglass died on February 14 in Harriston, Wellingon County, Ontario. His age was 76 years 10 months. His profession was shoemaker, and his religion was Methodist. The death record informants were his son Thomas and his attending physician. [5]

1891 On April 21, Thomas Douglass (age 50, farmer), his wife and children, and George Douglass (age 24, boot and shoe manufacturer) and his wife lived in Harriston, Wellington County, Ontario. [6]

1891 On April 18, George Douglas (age 46, shoemaker) and his wife and children lived in Smith Falls, Ontario. He and his parents were born in Ireland. [7]
