Handley Chipman wrote [1],
My oldest daughter Elizabeth was born Feby: 19th 1741, I having been Married about, I think, nine months & a fortnight or three weeks, being married to her my dear first wife April 24th 1740, by P. Minister Homes. My said daughter was baptized by Minister Searing, Minister in Newport to the 2 Congrega' Church. She was married to Mr: Wm Dexter of Cranston, near Providence, June 9th. Day. AD 1760. and departed this life Feby. 9th Day 1764, Leaving one son and two daughters behind her, the Son died at the age of about 20 years &c. The two daughters are both married, one not far from Providence to one Allen, the other lives about 30 miles from Providence where I cannot tell. They have both children, I hear. &c
