"Upon examining the homage-acceptance or the Whatton lands, it appears that one William Briton attests it. By reference to the de Grey pedigree it is found that Eva, sister of D'Oyly's wife, married one William Briton; which at once accounts for his attesting the admittance, being brother in law of the tenant."
