c 1644 John Brewer was born. [1]

1659 John Brewer surveyed land in the South River Hundred, Anne Arundel, Maryland. [2]

1667 John Brewer was a minor at the date of his mother's will in 1667. [3]

1667 John Brewer patented 300 acres of land in Maryland, exemption, [4]

1678 John Brewer patented 150 acres of land, Coliesby, in Maryland, exemption, [5]

1686 John Brewer patented 152 acres of land, Brewer's Chance, in Maryland, exemption, [6]

John Brewer and Sarah Ridgley, daughter of Colonel Henry Ridgley, "of Indian fame" and Sarah Warner, were married [7] [8].

1684 On 31 March, John Bruer was born to John and Sary Bruer in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. [9]

1688 On 20 August, Joseph Bruer was born to John and Sary Bruer in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. [10]

1690 On 26 October, Elizabeth Bruer was born to John and Sary Bruer in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. [11]

1690 John Brewer died, leaving a will dated 5 April and proved 1694 giving the 700 acre home plantation to son John and Eke my firstborn (?), excepting150 acres to an unborn child. "Brewington", 400 acres, to son Joseph. The will then refers to "either of my children", suggesting there were only two. Wife Sarah. Loving father Henry Ridgely was named executor "to discharge the duty of a father as well as executor". Wife Sarah was named executrix. Surety by widow Sarah Brewer, John Gray, and William Brewer. John Brewer died young and father-in-law Colonel Henry Ridgley became executor for his [John Brewer's] two sons John and Joseph, and one daughter, Elizabeth. [15]

Colonel Henry Ridgley made grandsons John and Joseph Brewer, his heirs. [16]

1691 Widow Sarah Brewer married Thomas Odell and they had children. [17]

1711 On 10 August, Ninian Magruder sold land to John and Joseph Brewer. "Wittnesseth th't whereas John Brewer late of Annard'll County dec'd father of ye above named John Brewer party to these presents did by his last will and testament give & bequeath unto ye child wherew'th his wife Sarah Brewer then went one hundred & fifty acres of land to be taken out of seven hundred acres of land by ye s'd will given to his s'd son J'n Brewer party hereto w'th S'd two hundred fifty acres of land was by ye s'd will to be taken from ye land next adjoining to ye line ' known by name of Edward Selbus line w'ch child above named is ye s'd Eliz'a wife to ye above s'd William Magruder, ordaining all in this s'd will that if either of his children die without issue ye s'd land to fall to ye next heir being ye above named Joseph Brewer as in & by ye s'd will ..." John Brewer, son of John and Elizabeth (Howard) Brewer, died April 5, 1690. He married, in 1685, Sarah, daughter of Colonel Henry and Sarah Ridgely, the former of whom came from England, and died in 1710. Colonel Ridgely was a justice of Anne Arundel county, 1679–94; burgess, 1692-93; captain of Foot Guard, Anne Arundel county, 1689; major, 1694; commissioned lieutenant-colonel, September 30, 1694.
