Well Known Grand Junction Resident In Government Service Died at Mussel Shoals, Ala.

As a shock to his great host of old time friends comes the announcement today that Fred Huntsman, for some fifteen years connected with the local electric companies, died yesterday at Mussels Shoals, Ala., where he was employed in a great government plant.

The message which was received by Alvin Borschell announced that pneumonia caused death. It is likely that Mr. Huntsman was attacked by Spanish influenza which later developed into pneumonia. Only yesterday C. R. Lough of this city received a letter from Mr. Huntsman on business matters, in which he stated that he was i11 and that there were many sick men in the camp at that time.

Mr. Huntsman only recently went from Tulsa, Okla., to Mussel Shoals, having been at the latter place only a month. About a month ago, following the receipt of a letter by "The Sentinel from Mr Huntsman we announced his acceptance of a position with the government at Mussel Shoals.

The deceased left Grand Junction about a year ago after his long residence here. Few young men in the city were better known. He was popular with all who knew him. He was a young man of splendid character industrious and upright and his death is most untimely. He is survived by his wife. There were no children.

1967 Bertha Huntsman died on January 28 in Pueblo, Colorado. [8]
