1746 Lorentz Rohrbaugh was born on October 16 at Trappe, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His baptism was sponsored by Lorentz Kuntz, perhaps his uncle. The church record entry indicates that both parents, as well as Lorentz Kuntz, belonged to the Reformed Church. The original spells the sponsor "Laurentz Kuhes." [1] [2]

Lorentz Rohrbaugh grew up in Vincent Twp, Chester County, Pennsylvania. [3]

1766 Lorentz Rohrbach's father, Christian Rohrbach, sold the farm in Vincent Twp, Chester County and moved to Codorus Twp, York County, when Lorentz was 20 years old. [4]

1768 Johann Heinrich Skeil, child of Heinrich Skeil and Anna Catharina Skeil, was born on September 17, 1768 and was baptised on October 18, 1768 at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. Anna Catharina Grockesin and Friedrich Rothermel, both single, were sponsors. [5]

1771 Lorenz Rohrbach and Catharina Grockesin, both single, were sponsors for the baptism of Catharina Eppli, daughter of Jacob and Christina Eppli on April 6, at St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran and Reformed Church, Brodbecks, Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [6] [7]

1771 Lorentz Rohrbaugh and Anna Catharina Grockes, both single, were sponsors for the baptism of nephew Christian Rohrbach to parents Christian and Christina Rohrbach on July 14 at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church. [8] [9]

1773 Johannes Rohrbach, son of Lorenz and Anna Catharina Rohrbach, was born on January 2, 1773. He was baptized on February 14, 1773, with sponsors Johannes Rohrbach and Magdalena Grokin (both single), at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church. [10] [11] [12]

1773 Lorenz and Anna Catharina Rohrbach were sponsors for the baptism of Maria Skeil, daughter of Henrich and Catharina Skeil, on October 3, at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church. [13]

1773 Lawrence Rohrbach received a warrant, dated June 14, for 200 acres in Codorus Twp, York County. The tract was named "Punch Hall". [14] [15] A survey of the tract, dated December 4, reported 159 acres and showed adjacent tracts of land belonging to George Kaltriter, Michael Behler, Henry Skiles, and George Wherley Jr. [16] [Photocopy, Survey of Lorentz Rohrbach's "Punch Hall" property in York County, Pennsylvania, 1772.] Lawrence Rhobaugh received a patent for the land on November 9, 1784. 1776 Laurence Rohrbach was a Sergeant in Captain George Hoover's Company from Codorus Twp, York County. Brothers Henry and Christian Jr Rohrbach were Privates in the same company. [18] [19] [20]

c 1776 Lawrence Rorbaugh was listed (undated) in the 5th Battalion under Col Francis Jacob Remer, Company 3 under Captain Peter Zollinger from Paradise Twp, York County. [21] [22] [23]

1776 Samuel Rohrbach, son of Lorentz and Anna Catherina Rohrbach, was born on February 26, 1776. He was baptized on March 17, 1776, with his parents as sponsors, at St Jacobs Stone Lutheran Church in Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. [24] [25] [26] [27] [28]

1777 Lawrence Rohrbaugh, perhaps this one, was a Private in the Company of Captain Peter Zollinger, of the Seventh Battalion of York County. [29]

1778 Lawrence Rorebach and Christian Rorebach were taxed in Codorus Twp, York County. [30] [31]

1778 Henrich Rohrbach, child of Lorenz Rohrbach and Catharina Rohrbach, was born on November 30, 1778 and was baptised on December 21, 1778 at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. Heinrich and Catharina Skeil were sponsors. [32] [33] [34]

c1779 In an undated list, perhaps 1779, Lorentz Rohrbach was named as a Sergeant in Captain Michael Leehner's Company in the 5th Battalion. [35]

1779 Lorentz Rohrbach was taxed 16 pounds 13 shillings in Codorus Twp with 159 acres, 2 horses and 2 cows. [36] [37] Lorentz Roarbough and Christian Rorebough were taxed. [38] [39]

1780 Lorenz Roarbach was a Sergeant in Captain Michael Lechner's company of York County militia. [40]

1780 Lorentz Rohrbach was taxed in Codorus Twp with 50 acres, and 2 horses. [41] Another listing reported 159 acres. [42]

1781 Maria Catharina Rohrbach, child of Lorenss Rohrbach and Anna Catharina Rohrbach, was born on March 19, 1781 and was baptised on April 22, 1781 at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. Heinrich Schkeil and wife were the sponsors. [43] [44] [45]

1781 Lorentz Rohrbach was taxed 2 pounds in Codorus Twp with 200 acres, 2 horses, 3 cattle. [46] [47]

1781 Lorentz Rohrbach and his brother Christian were listed in the levy dated Jan 30, 1781 of the 3rd Class of Codorus Twp Militia. [48]

1782 Ludwig Rohrbach, son of Christian and Christina Rohrbach, was born on December 20, 1782. He was baptized with sponsors Lorenz and Katharina Rohrbach on March 30, 1783 at St Jacobs Stone Lutheran Church in Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. [49]

1782 Lorentz Rohrbach was listed as a Sergeant in Captain Henry Kessler's Company, probably the 4th Company, 5th Battalion [50]

1782 Lorentz Rohrbach was taxed 4 pounds 13 shillings and 9 pence for 200 acres, 2 horses, 3 cattle in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [51] [52]

1783 Lawrence Rhorbach was taxed with 200 acres, 7 inhabitants in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [53] [54]

1783 Christian Rohrbaugh, son of Lorentz and Catharina Rohrbach, was born on September 4, 1783. He was baptized, with sponsors Christian and Christina Rohrbach, on October 2, 1783 at St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran and Reformed Church, Brodbecks, Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [55] [56] [57] [58] His grave at Saint Jacobs (Stone Church) Cemetery, Glenville, York County, Pennsylvania is marked by a stone in his memory which gives his date of birth as February 4, 1783. 1784-1788 Catharine Rohrbach was listed as coming to Holy Communion, at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. [61] [62]

1784 Lorentz and Catharina Rohrbach were sponsors at the baptism of Jacob Docker, son of Ludewig and Catharina Docker at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. [63]

1785 Maria Catarina Rohrbach, child of Christian Rohrbach and Christina Rohrbach, was born on June 24, 1785 and was baptised on August 21, 1785 at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. Lorentz and Catharina Rohrbach were sponsors. [64]

1785 Lawrence Rohrback applied for a warrant for 40 acres on October 27. [65] The land called "No. 2", which was surveyed June 21, 1788 was surveyed by John Rohrbaugh. [66] [67] The tract with 57 acres was patented by John Rohrbach on 5 August, 1809. [68]

1786 Elisabeth Rohrbach, daughter of Lorentz and Catharina Rohrbach, was born on March 21, 1786. She was baptized on April 27, 1786 at St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran and Reformed Church, Brodbecks, Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [69]

1789 David Rohrbach, child of Lorentz Rohrbach and Anna Catharina Rohrbach, was born on February 27, 1789 and was baptised on March 21, 1789 at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. The parents were sponsors. [80] [81] [82] [83] [84]

1789 Lorentz Rohrbach applied for a warrant for 25 acres in York County on March 24. [85] A land patented was granted to John Rohrbach on August 4, 1809. [86] The survey showed 29 acres called "No. 1" on June 20, 1789. [87]

1790 Laurins Rourburgh lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, in a household with 4 males under age 16, 3 males age 16 and over, and 3 females. [88] [89]

1792 Christian (250 acres) and Lorentz (200 acres) Rohrbach were taxed in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [90]

1792 Joseph Rohrbach, child of Lorentz Rohrbach and Catharina Rohrbach, was born on December 18, 1792 and was baptised on December 26, 1792 at St Jacobs (Stone), Lutheran and Reformed church, Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. Christin and Christina Rohrbach were sponsors. [91] [92] [93] [94]

1793 Lawrence Rhorbach was listed in the septennial census for Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [95]

1793 Lorentz Rohrbach was taxed in Codorus Twp, York County with 200 acres, 2 horses, 2 cattle.

1795 Laurance Rohrbaugh died. His estate was administered March 24, 1795. Martin Snyder was appointed guardian for his sons Samuel, aged 19, and Henry Rohrbach, age 16. Peter Krebs of Codorus Twp was appointed guardian for Christian, Elizabeth, and David, minor children [under the age of fourteen?]. Dated March 24 at the York County Orphans Court. [96]

1795 Christian and John (not Lorentz) Rohrbach were taxed in Codorus Twp, York County. [97] [98]

1796 John and Christian Rohrbaugh, administrators of the estate of Lorentz Rohrbaugh deceased presented their account of the estate showing balance 477 pounds, 5 shillings, 1 penny. Martin Snyder of Codorus Twp was appointed guardian by the daughter Catharina, age 15. [99]

1797 Anna Maria Ham Miller died on June 22 and was buried at Saint Emanuels Union Cemetery, Jefferson, York County, Pennsylvania. Anna Maria Ham Miller was born on December 31, 1764. [100] [101] Anna Marie Hamm was the first wife of Andrew Miller, second husband of Anna Catharina Grockes.

1797 John, Christian, Christian, and Henry Rohrbach were taxed in Codorus Twp, York County. [102] Christian was taxed as a single man. [103]

1797 John Rohrbach, eldest son and heir of Lorentz Rohrbach petitioned the York County Orphans Court. Dated March 24. [104]

The petition of John Rohrbach eldest son and heir at law of Laurence Rohrbach late of York County yeoman deceased, was read to the Court setting forth that the said Laurence Rohrbach lately died intestate owner and seised of a certain Plantation and tract of land in Codorus Township in the same County adjoining the lands of Matthias Snyder, John Strickhouser, Christian Meckley, and Christian Heifner, containing about three hundred and forty eight acres, with the appurtenances and left a widow named Catharine and lawful issue to survive him, to wit John Rohrbach the petitioner, Samuel Rohrbach, Henry Rohrbach, Christian Rhorbach, and Elizabeth Rohrbach and that no partition hath been made …

1797 The sheriff determined that the estate should not be partitioned. John Rohrbaugh, eldest son, purchased the land for the valuation. Dated June 27 at the York County Orphans Court. [105]

Sons Johannes and Christian Rohrbach were named administrators. [106]

1799 Catharina Rohrbach remarried. On March 1, 1799 "I Andrew Miller of Codorus Township in the County of York … have contracted … with Catharine Rohrback the late widow and Relict of Laurence Rohrbach … the said Catharine Rohrback the said Andrew Miller being now intermarried" documented a marriage contract they had made before marriage. [107]. By his first wife Anna Maria …, Andreas Miller had four children who were baptized in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church between 1784 and 1793, with the last one being baptized Aug 4, 1793.

1806 Christian Rohrbach granted a release to Peter Krebs, guardian, on January 3. [108]

1819 Christian Rohrbach Sr granted land in Codorus Twp, York County, to John Rohrbach Jr on October 5. [109]

1820 Andrew Miller lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (under 10), 2 (16 thru 25), and 1 (45 and over); and females: 1 (26 thru 44) and 1 (45 and over). [110]

The death date of Anna Catharina Grockes-Rohrbach-Miller is unclear. Andrew Miller's first wife died in 1797. The ages of Andrew Miller's second wife (Anna Catharina Grockes-Rohrbach-Miller) are not consistently reported in census records and grave markers.

1829 Andrew Miller dated his will in Codorus Twp, York County on May 25, 1829, and it was proved in York County, Pennsylvania Dec 14, 1842. In it he mentions his wife Catherine, and "my" children and "her" children and their heirs. The will named my daughter Catherine, my son John, and my son David; whose shares were to be put on interest for yearly payments to them, as necessary. Other children namely Elizabeth intermarried with Christian Werner, also Margaret intermarried with John Gonence now dec, & also Christina intermarried unto Henry Rohrbaugh, also Molly intermarried unto Samuel Wherly, also Solome intermarried unto David Rohrbaugh, the each of them shall receive their full shares out of my real and personal estate. Son-in-law Henry Rohrbaugh was named executor, with Echechiel Kitt. Ezekiel Kidde resigned as executor. [111] [112]

1830 Andrew Miller lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (30 thru 39) and 1 (70 thru 79); and females: 1 (50 thru 59) and 1 (70 thru 79). [113]

1836(?) Anna Catharina Miller, wife of Andreas Miller, died on June 23, at age 84y 8m, and was buried at Saint Emanuels Union Cemetery, York County, Pennsylvania. This grave marker is not easy to read. [114] [115]

1840 Andrew Miller lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (40 thru 49) and 1 (80 thru 89); and females: 1 (50 thru 59) and 1 (60 thru 69). [116]

1842 Andreas Miller died on November 22 and was buried at Saint Emanuels Union Cemetery, Jefferson, York County, Pennsylvania. Andreas Miller was born on March 14, 1752. [117] [118]
