Notes for John Delahoy and Mary Lambeth

1754 "James Rager son of Nathaniel Rager of Christchurch, Middlesex, Weaver," put himself apprentice to "John Hardy, Citizen and Clothmaker of London" for a term of seven years "the thirteenth Day of January." [1] James later became the second husband of widow Mary (Lambeth) Delahoy.

1755 At St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex, "John Delahoy and Mary Lambeth both of this parish were married in this church by Banns July 8th." [2]

1757 John Delahoy, son of John and Mary, was baptized on July 3 at St Clement Danes, Middlesex. [3]

1759 James, son of John and Mary Delahoy, was baptized on September 30 in St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex. [4]

1766 George Delehoy, son of John and Mary, was born on July 25 and baptized on August 17 at St James, Piccadilly (Westminster), Middlesex. [5]

1767 "John Delahoy" from "St James, M" (man), was buried on April 10 in St Anne, Soho, Middlesex. [6]

1767 At St Clement Danes, Middlesex, "James Rager of this parish Batchelor and Mary Delehoy of the same parish Widow were married in this Church by Banns this twenty seventh Day of October in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Seven By me John Lewis Curate. This Marriage was solemnized between Us James Rager Mary Delehoy In the Presence of Charles Pullin Mary Pullin." [7] [8] The witnesses were married in St Luke, Berwick Street, Westminster, on September 29, 1765. Their witnesses were Richard Leech and N___ Russell. [9]

1769 Mary Ann, daughter of James and Mary Rager, was born on October 7 and baptized on October 26 at St Sepulchre, London. [10]

1771 Nathaniel, son of James and Mary Anne Rager, was born on May 7 and baptized on June 5 in St Dunstan in the West, London. [11]

1771 On July 3 John Delehoy, son of John Delehoy, Victualer, St. James Westmr., Middlesex, deceased, was apprenticed to John Lewis, Sherbone Lane, London, of the Company of Clothworkers, for 7 years for £10.10. [12]

1771 On Thursday 4 July apprentice Jno Delehoy was recorded in the Apprenticeship Book with indenture "3 July 1771, 7 [years] from date" to master Jno Lewis, Citizen and Clothworker of London. [13]

1771 John Delahoy of "W. Fryors" was buried on October 11 at St Anne, Soho, Middlesex. In the column for C, M, or W (child, man, or women), he is recorded as both C and M written over each other. [14]

1772 Nathaniel Rager of W. Fryers, child, was buried on February 3 in St Anne Soho, Westminster, Middlesex, England. [15]

1773 October 6 James Delehoy, son of John Delehoy, Coachman, St. Jas. Westmr., Middlesex, deceased, was apprenticed to John Lewis, Clothworker, St Mary Woolnoth, London, of the Clothworkers' Company of London, for 7 years for £21. [16]

1773 On Thursday 7 October apprentice James Delahoy was recorded in the Apprenticeship Book with indenture "3 Oct. 1773, 7 [years] from date" to master John Lewis, Citizen and Clothworker of London. [17]

1774 James Rager of Paved Alley was assessed 2/2/0 in White Friars Precinct in the ward of Farrington Without, London. [18]

1775 James Rager of Great Ashentree Ct. was assessed 0/8/0 (personal estate) and 3/0/0 (rents &c) in the White Friars Precinct in the ward of Farrington Without, London. [19]

1776 James Rager of Great Ashentree Court was assessed 0/8/0 (personal estate) and 4/0/0 (rents &c) in the White Friars Precinct in the ward of Farrington Without, London. [20]

1794 John Ferguson and Mary Ann Rager, both of St Alphege in Greenwich, were married there by banns on May 9. [21] Their witnesses, Richard Griffiths and Mary Paul, were married there the same day: Thomas Paul, bachelor, and Mary Hazell, spinster, by banns with witnesses John Ferguson and Edw. Smith, and Richard Griffiths, bachelor, and Frances Burres, spinster, by banns with witnesses, John Ferguson and Mary Paul.

1796 Mary Ann Ferguson, daughter of James and Mary Ann Rager, born Oct. 28, 1769 in London, was baptized on July 31, 1796, in the New Jerusalem Temple, Red Cross Street near Barbican, London. [22]
