1713 "Baptized 1713 (vizt.) ... Xber 6 Nolbury s of Wm Rout Ship't [shipwright] in Church Street" at St Nicholas Deptford, Kent. [1]

1736 "Norbery Rout and Elizabeth Banks, both of St. Nicholas, Deptford," were married on June 7 at St Margaret, Lee, Kent. [2]

1736 "Baptized 1736 December 2 William S of Nolbery Rout Baker FR" at St Nicholas Deptford. [3]

1737 "Elizabeth Dr of Norbury Rowte Baker Flagon Row" was baptized on December 29" at St. Nicholas Deptford, Kent. [4]

1742 "John s of Norbery & Elizabeth Routt Baker Butt Lane" was baptized on November 21 at St Paul Deptford, Kent. [5]

1763 "Norbury Rout, Baker, But Lane" was buried on June 7 in St Paul Deptford, Kent. [6]

1763 The will of Norbury Rout, Baker of Deptford St Paul, was proved in the Rochester Archdeaconry Court. [7]

1765 Elizabeth Rout wrote her will on December 22.[8]

In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Rout of the parish of Saint Pauls Deptford and in the County of Kent widow being weak in Body yet of sound and perfect understanding and Memory praised be God do make this my last will and Testament as followeth Imprimus I give to my Son William Rout the large Looking Glass and Table under it now in the Back Chamber the silver Tankard two pair of Sheets and one third part of the China. Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Penney all my wearing apparel two pair of Sheets two pictures that hang on each side the Glass in the Back Chamber the small pair of Draws and one third of the China and the Rest and Residue of my Goods and Chattels and personal Estate after payment of my Debts and Funeral Expences I give to my son John Rout whom I make sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty second day of December and in the year of our Lord 1765 -- Mark of Elizabeth Rout -- LS -- Sealed published and declared by me the abovementioned Elizabeth Rout for and as her last Will and testament in the presence of us -- John Banks -- Jno. Banks Junior -- Mark of Jane Pomeroy --

1766 "Eliz: Route, Route, wid: Butt L" was buried on March 3 in St Paul Deptford, Kent. [9]

1766 The will of Elizabeth Rout was proved on April 8. "This Will was proved at London on the eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six ... by the oath of John Rout the Son of the said Deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will to whom administration of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased was granted ... " [10]

Research Notes:

1711 An Elizabeth Banks, daughter of William Banks and Mary, was baptized on August 19 in Hythe St Leonard, Kent. [11] [12] William and Mary also had a son William baptized on November 14, 1708, in Hythe. [13]

1706 William Banks, yeoman of Newington Hythe, and Mary Minter, of Folkestone, were married on October 3 at Canterbury, St Mary Bredin. [14]
