Research Notes:

We are researching John Clayton [20], married to Alice Myres. It is plausible that John was a son of this Edmond, although we know of no evidence to support this relationship, other than coincidence of time, place, and religion.

"The Swarthmoore (Quaker) Meeting Records tell of Edmund Clayton, his wife, Margaret, and likely sons: Richard and John. They all lived at Gleaston. John is also listed as of Hall-Bank and Rampside. The burial of Edmund in 1657 is likely that of a non-Quaker, and is listed because of the other family members. His wife died Feb 20, 1663 (12M 20-1662), two months after her granddaughter and four months after her daughter-in-law." [21]
