Research Notes:

Alice, daughter of Nicholas Longford, of Longford, Derbyshire; reportedly married William FitzHerbert, and was the mother of his son Henry. [6]

In her discussion of Nicholas Longford, who died 8 February 1355/56, Rosie Bevan states, [7]

Apart from his son Nicholas, said to be aged 23 and more, it is believed he left a daughter Alice - according to Fitzherbert pedigrees, wife of William Fitzherbert of Norbury (Mosley, 1999) - although chronology might suggest that Alice was of the next generation of the Longford family [24].

[24] Her grandson, Nicholas Fitzherbert, was born c.1410.
