1229 Ralph de Frecheville "was possessed of 15 fees when he contributed to the Kerry scutage in 1229." [1]

1237 Ralph Frecheville "had inherited lands and other rights [perhaps through his maternal grandmother, Edelina de Alwodestone] which William fitz Ralf had enjoyed in Alvaston and it was in his court at Alvaston that William son of Richard de Boulton in 1237 quitclaimed to the canons the services which Ralf owed him for a toft in that village." [2] The grant from William was for "the service which Ralf de Frecheville and his heirs owe him for the toft which Henry of Bunny [Nottonghamshire] held in Alvaston." [3]

1243 "This Raph de Frecheville, who made an Agreement with Raph the Abbat, the Saturday next before the Feast of St. Gregory, the Pope, at Wynefeld in the Year 1243, that the Canons should have their Estovers out of the Wood and Hay of Criche, [Mon. Angl. Vol. 2. p. 900][Ex Regist de Derley. p. 134] and confirmed the Gift of his Mother Julian of a Bovat of Land in Scardiclyss." [4] [5]

1250 Grant in alms by Robert son of Hugh of Alvaston to the canons of 1 rood of meadow in the fields of Alvaston lying between the meadow of Ralf de Frecheville and the meadow which belonged to John of Egginton in Rugdolesiche. [6]

c 1254 "Ralph de Frechevill [Ex Regist de Derley. p. 115] confirmed to the Abby of Derley the Gifts of his Ancestors, viz. of William Fitz-Raph, and Robert his Son, of the Advowson of St. Michael in Darby, and the Chapel of Alwoldeston; of Hubert Fitz-Raph, the Advowson of the Churches of Cruch and Scardecliss, and Chapel of Palterton, and some other Things which he gave for the Souls of Edelina and Sara his Wives." Ralph de Frecheville confirmed all the gifts of his ancestors, perhaps about the time he achieved his majority [age 21] and again in 1254. [7] [8]

"Quit-claim from Ralph de Fretchvile to Elianore daughter of Geoffrey le Chaumburleyn, of lands in Alwaldestone for a sum of 3 marks in silver, no date. Grant from Eleanora formerly wife of Robert Prendegeste to the monastery of Stanleye, of lands in Alwoldeston which belonged to Robert de Chaumburleyn her uncle, no date." Alvaston, folio 36. [9]

1260 "It was against Ralf [Ralph Frecheville] and other laymen and clerks that the canons brought a suit in the papal court concerning their tithes and other rights in Scarcliff, and the suit was settled before judges delegate in 1260." [10]

1260/61 Ralph Frecheville died before February 5. "497. Writ, 5 Feb. 45 Hen. III. To the escheator in co. Derby. Inq. (missing.) Aukerus, his son, is his heir, and of full age. Nottingham. Writ, 5 Feb. Inq. Friday after St. Peter in cathedra, 45 Hen. III. Boney manor (extent given), held of the king in chief by service of one knight. Rotinton, ½ knight's fee held of John de Musters of the fee of Richmond, rendering 5s. yearly. [11] [12]

1260 October 28 [45 Henry III] "[No date]. Derbyshire. Ralph de Fresneville gives 40s. for having a writ of trespass before the king (coram Rege). Order to the sheriff of Derbyshire. [S', in the Roll]" [13]

1260 October 28 [45 Henry III] "[No date]. Derbyshire. Hubert de Freschenville [relationship unknown] gives half a mark for a writ ad terminum. Order to the sheriff of Derbyshire. [S', in the Roll]" [14]

1261 March 9 [45 Henry III] "For Ankerus de Freschenville. The king has taken the homage of Ankerus de Freschenville, son and heir of Ralph de Freschenville, for all lands and tenements which Ralph held from the king in chief in Nottinghamshire on the day he died, and he has delivered those lands and tenements to him. Order to William of Wendling, escheator on this side of the Trent, that, having accepted security from Ankerus for rendering 25 m. to the king at the Exchequer, namely a moiety at the Exchequer at Easter in one month and the other moiety at the Exchequer at Michaelmas next following in one month, he is to cause him to have full seisin without delay of all lands and tenements that Ralph held from the king in the aforesaid county and of which Ralph was seised in his demesne as of fee on the day he died and which he took into the king's hand by reason of Ralph's death. 1261 March 9 [45 Henry III] "For Ankerus de Freschenville. Order, in the same manner, to William Latimer, the king's escheator beyond the Trent, that, having accepted security from the abovesaid Ankerus for rendering 25 m. at the abovesaid terms, he is to cause him to have full seisin without delay of all lands and tenements of which the same Ralph, his father, was seised in his demesne as of fee in Derbyshire. [S', in the Roll]" [16]
