1798 Henry Hering, of Manheim Twp, York County, dated his will on October 13. The will named wife Julianna, young daughter Christina, two other married daughters, son Henry under age 21, eight Children: son Lewis, Philipena, John, Mary, Jacob, Christina, Henry, and George. A codicil was dated on June 28, 1801. The will was affirmed by witnesses on July 18 and July 31, 1801. Daniel Dubs and Anthony Hinkel were named executors. [3]

1850 Henry Herring (age 72, born in Pennsylvania) lived in McSherrystown, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Margaret Herring (age 64). The family of John Bushy was listed adjacent [administrator for Henry's will]. [21]

1855 John Henry Heering died on April 11 at age 76y 4m 15d. [22]

Keith Dull, Early German Settlers, 125 reports the following:

Henrich … died in 1855. He married Loisa and Margaret. Loisa was b. on May 31, 1778, and d. on Mar. 6, 1842 (bur. at STM [Saint Matthews Church]). Margaret was b. about 1782, and d. on Nov. 25, 1869 (bur. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown). In 1810 he was residing in Manheim Township; in MD in 1820; in Adams Co., Mount Pleasant Township in 1830 and 1840; and McSherrystown in 1850.
