1587 "October ii Mathew Maow Ales Barter wer Marryed" in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [1]

1589 Elizabeth the daughter of Mathew Maho was baptized in May (first of two baptism in May) in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [2]

1590/91 "John the sonne of Mathewe Maho" was baptized on Januarie 17 in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [3]

1593 "Thomas the sonne of Mathewe Maho was baptized the first daye" of "Aprill" in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [4]

1595/96 "Jone the daughter of Mathew Maho" was baptized "the viijth of Februarie" in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [5]

1598 "Alice the daughter of Mathew Maiho was bapt the xviijth of December" in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [6]

1599/1600 "Katherine ye daughter of Mathew Maio" was baptized "the ixth of Marche" in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [7]

1602 "Edward Mayhew the sonne of Mathew Mayhew was baptised 24th of Aprill" in Tisbury, Wiltshire.[8]

In the name of God Amen, I Mathew Maihew of Tisbury in the county of Wilts yeoman being in good health and pf perfect memory (Thankes bee to god for it) doe make constitute, and ordeine this may last will and testament in manner and forme following First I bequeath my soule into the handes of Almighty god my maker and redeemer and my body to bee buried in the Church or Church yard of Tisbury aforesaide Itme I give and bequeath to the parish CHurch of Tisbury ii s vj d Itm I give and bequeath to the poore people of the foresaid Tisbury iijs iiij d Itm I give and bequeath to my sonne Thomas Maihew Forty pounds of good and lawfull monie of England where of twenty pounds to bee paid him by my executor wthin one whole yeare after my decease and the other twenty pounds to bee paid him by my executor within five yeares after the payment of the first twenty pounds in manner and forme followig vz fower pounds every yeare vntill the sume fo twenty pounds bee paid and the five yeares expired Itm I give and bequeath vnto my sonne Edward Maihew six and fifty pounds of good and lawfull monie of England whereof six and thirty to bee paide him by my executor within one whole yeare after my decease and the other twenty pounds to bee paid vnto him by my executor after the same manner and at the same times wch are provided for the payent of the last twenty pounds of my sonne THomas his portion Itm I give and bequeath vnto my daughter Joane Maihewe six and forty pounds of good and lawfull monie of England where of six and twenty pounds to bee paid within one whole yeare after my decease and the other twenty pounds to bee paid after the same manner and at the same times wch are prescribed for the last payment of my sonne Thomas his portion Item I give and bequeath vnto my daughter Alice Maihew six and fory pounds of good and lawfull monie of England to bee paid vnto her y my executor aftry such manner and at such times as my daughter Joane Maihewes portion is to bee paid Itm I give and bequeathe vnto my daughter Katherine Maihew six and forty pounds to be paid vnto her by my executor after the same manner and at the same times wch are prescribed for the payment of my other two daughters portions All the rest of my goods and chattles moueable and vnmoueable I give and bequeath vnto my sonne John Maihew whome I Make my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testamt: Itm I doe constitute and appointe John Bracher of Tisbury Edward Bracher of Tisbury Richard Longly of Boreham and John Bilbert of Veny Sutton ouerseers of this my last will and testament In witnes whereof I haue herevnto subscribed my hande the last day of AUgust in the yeare of our Lord god 1612rhw marke of Mathew Maihewe In the p'nte of John Bracher. Research Notes:

The following will of Agnes Mayhew mentions each of the children of Mathew Mayhew, referring to them as children of her brother Mayhew. She also mentions each of the daughters mentioned in the will of Mathew's father Thomas, referring to them as her sisters. My current guess is that she was the widow of one of Mathew's brothers (Thomas or Walter) and had no surviving children of her own.

1606/07 Agnes Maihew of Tisbury wrote her will on January 12. [10]

In the name of god Amen the Tweluth day of January in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred and sixe I Agnes Maihew being sick of body but of sound and perfect memory thanks bee to god doe make and ordeine my last will and testamt in manner and forme following Firs I geue and bequeath my soule into the handes of Almighty god my maker & redeemer and my body to be buried in the church yeard of Tisbury in the County of Wilts at the discretion of mine executor Itm I geue and bequeath vunto Elizabeth eldest daughter of my brother Maihew five pounds of lawfull english monie Itm I geue vnto Thomas the sonne of my said brother five pounds of like monie Itm I geue vnto Joane the daughter of my said brother six poundes Itm I geue vnto Alse and Catherine his youngest daughters and vnto Edward his youngest sonne fower pounds a peece Itm I geve vnto my sisters Alse Beachier Joane Northen [crossed out: and] Ann Waterman & Ann Turner twelue pence a peece Itm I geue vnto Alse and Ann the daughters of my sister Joane aforesd and vnto Roberte her sonne fower shillings fower pence a peece Itm I geue vnto John and Edward the sonnes of my sister Ann Turner aforesd xij d a peece Itm I geue vnto John Mathew and Ann children of my sister Ann Watermann aforesd xij d a peece Item I geue unto my two goddaughters Joane Newe & Agnes Seymer xij d a peece Itm I geue vnto Joane fripp two shillings and vnto John Rose thelder and Joane his sister xij d a peece Itm I geue vnto the poore of the parish of Tisbury aforesd tenn shillings to bee distributed att the discretion of my ouerseers The rest of all my goods and chattels avoue not giuen I geue and bequeath vnto John theldest Sonne of my brother Maihew aforesaid whome I doo make my whole & sole executor and for the better perforemance of this my will I ordeine and appoint my welbeloued brother Mathew Maihew and Henry Davis to bee my ouerseers to see this my will well & truly performed In witnes whereof I haue set my hande the day and yeare aboue written witnessth hereof Teste me Har Hambridg sen Tho: Bisse with thees Agnes Maihew her marke.

1612 "Agnes Maihue was buryed the iiijth day of May" in Tisbury, Wiltshire. [11]

1612 The will of Agnes Maihew of Tisbury in Wiltshire was proved "vicesimo tertio die Junij" in the Archdeaconry of Salisbury. [12]
